Hmph... Bike in bits, water pump out, finally, I have the part to find that the "manual" lists the water pump as non repairable. Found one article in a Honda Forum which tells me how to get it out, seems the puller I bought was better than I expected. When I've bought a small angle grinder to "modify" it to fit, I should be able to get it all out and split and put back together again... I can see someone has been inside it. The idler wheel is also gone (I bought one of those too) and the bolt was cross threaded. Took me more than half an hour and rather a lot of sweat (but thankfully no skin), to get the damned thing out. Note to self, small hacksaw too to modify the bolt to thread clearing.

So a trip to B&Q for a grinder and hacksaw followed by a trip to Halfords to get some liquid gasket (I can make them but I've lost the will to live on this one), then back to the bike.

The good news. Third time of stripping the bike and I have the process down to 1 hour (from 2). Probably helped by the £35 cordless drill I bought yesterday from Argos, to replace my other one which has gone on the blink.

You wouldn't think that stupid little round thing would be so difficult would you....
