Well we are going home this evening. Both of us shattered, I had a hotel booked and we finally got to it around 4am and we did get some sleep. All tests came up clear and they moved him to an observation ward to await the final blood results, and then we had to wait for the discharge letter. He has had similar doses before over the years but not during the day and this was a bad one. He has been tested before too to no avail.

You should be proud of your NHS, if this was at home we would possibly still be there and it is a horrible dirty place. I am humbled by the kindness of strangers, people on the train were so lovely including a paramedic who got off with us and stayed until a young local nurse came along and said she would stay with us. Also the station staff were so nice and everyone in the hospital. Hanging around now until we bravely attempt to get to Gatwick again ;) Thank you for all the support and vibes xxxx

Oh phew Osc, I've been looking out for your update... so glad you're both OK; albeit tired. Hopefully the journey home is an easy and calm one

Thanks for the update and the better news, Osc, I hope you both get home safely.

And thank you, also, for pointing out the kindness of strangers who helped you - the forgotten ones - who exist in their millions despite what we are often told.

Vibes still being sent ... xxx

Osc I am so glad to hear this! Safe trip home later, and a hug from me for E ((((((((E)))))))) Sometimes these things just have no explanation, they never did find one for my funny heartbeat "do's" last summer

I am proud of the NHS, it is a precious jewel and worth fighting for! It's so nice to have someone from 'outside' these shores saying so. I have two family members who work in it, a BiL as a paramedic and a nephew who is an A&E nurse and I know how damned hard they work, so thank you!

Much love to you both xxxx

Really pleased to hear you are on your way home.

Another one here who cannot fault the NHS.
