they really really need to start doing that here; I just don't get why they don't.

When I go shopping, I leave the house, get in the car and before I get out the car I put on my mask and it doesn't come off until I'm back in the car. And same when I go to work, it goes on in the car when I get to the station and comes off once I reach the office (well I do take it off when on the platform and I have my coffee ;-) ) . Yes, maybe not the most comfortable thing every but hey; as has been pointed out - a ventilator would be even more uncomfortable

This has been the law here since 15 July and we're being told will continue to be so until May.

Same as us Ally, in one way, We've had to wear them in shops/offices but only suggested when out in the street. Must admit, most of the oldies in Ourique war theirs all the time.

Our council have given us all a washable mask, with inserts.

As a matter of interest, does anyone know - within Tier 2 (and 3) does the bubble support still work; so Kaz in your case you can still visit D as she is a single person household and part of your bubble, and for me I can go visit Karl and Nadine as they are my bubble and I'm a single person household?

I've given up trying to understand what a bubble means, Meriad. We just keep ourselves to ourselves these days .....

If Leeds (Tier 2) is anything to go by - in practical terms, not much. People still invade your space, wear face masks as chin nappies and meet up in groups all over the place.

Officially? It depends on the rules 'negotiated' for your local area. There are general rules, here, but you do need to check. The Leeds list is at variance and also quite large.

ETA I tend to use the Ossie approach.

Sorry, Kaz, but that's wrong. SB's are allowed in T 3 and can transcend tiers 2 and 3 so long as any meetings are in outdoor public places, with no more than six participants (from the one bubble) and SD rules apply, but...... there are extra local rules in some T 3 areas so a check is needed.

The Tier 2 thing doesn’t really bother me, not a lot changes for us. Like Ossie and Frank we’re pretty much keeping ourselves to ourselves socially. I do feel for the lads though, they’ve been brilliant at sticking to the rules yet here they are again, unable to properly see their girlfriends. I suppose Tom could meet Shannon for dinner or coffee somewhere but Joe’s pretty much stuck with Amanda being so far away in Cornwall. He’s off work this week so is driving down tomorrow morning to see her.

We’ve been talking about this over the Summer, when this has calmed down we want to plan a proper getaway, all six of us, and the plan at the moment is Florida. It’ll be a matter of finding a time to suit all but we’re all really keen to do this.

I stand corrected ;) Outside meetings would however be a complete no-go for us, with D's chest she can't sit outside in winter :? She did ask me during her shielding if I would officially become her carer if shielding came in again, and I would if she really meant it, as then I could go in the house freely.

Ria I only take my mask off in town if I stop for a cuppa, otherwise it stays on the whole time. I'm used to it now.

Kaz, at least D can stand on the step, well wrapped up, and the two of you can have a chat and you can take her some bits and bobs, swap cards etc. It's not much, but it's better than nowt. xx Look into the carer thing, if you are already in a bubble it might work.

Jo, you are not the only ones feeling that way. My trip, if it can happen, would be to go to Vietnam to see Becks. Digits crossed. ;)
