I am supposed to be ploughing through my pile of ironing but am using the fact that the chimney sweep is coming as an excuse not to get it out.

That's if the idiot man turns up - he is supposed to be here at 12.30 but said he would ring me as he knows he can't get his van through the gap to our lane so I have to go fetch him. My neighbour said it took her 4 attempts to get him to come out - he kept saying he had forgotten. I have rung to remind him earlier and left a message on his mobile - we will see if he does arrive.

I will be very cross if he doesn't as Mick wants to make a start on putting in the log burner soon (although we all know what Mick's "soon" is like) and he can't do it until the chimney has been swept.
