Hi all - we're in Alnmouth!! :D :D :D :D :D 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) (and I'm knicker-less, for those on FB who know.....for others, I forgot to pack any knickers   )

Got here yesterday, it's dry and occasional bursts of sunshine, so all is good. Downside is, to my disappointment, T invited the kids to come stay with us. I don't usually have a problem with this, but a) the cottage really isn't big enough for five adults and two children, and b) I was really REALLY hoping to spend a week just the two of us, we've had a few ups and downs this past few weeks and I personally feel we need some 'us' time - whilst he just wants to share this fab place with the family. So, they are coming later today. Thought they might not last night, as Lily hasn't been well but seemingly she is ok now. Oh well its only the one night I s'pose.....*sigh*

We have lots of walking planned, already done one in fact, and am currently looking for another place to rent next year :D :D

Glad you had a great holiday Kaz, makes so much difference doesn't it? :D

Ally have a smashing time in Torremolinos :D

Get well soon to the poorlies xxx

Have a great Saturday xx

Good morning Saturday

Postby debih » 17 Oct 2015, 14:40

Afternoon all. I'm back in the land of the living after having the most horrific cold for a week!

It started last Friday - on the day Fruity and family were coming to stay. I managed to do the colour run with Fruity on Saturday morning but we had to walk it as I was coughing the whole time. Had a nice evening Saturday but they left earlier than planned on Sunday as I felt so rough. I took to my bed on Sunday afternoon and, apart from getting up for 5 minutes at 7am to get the girls up, I didn't surface again until Wednesday night. Then spent Thursday and Friday on the sofa!

But although I'm still full of cold I feel ok today - which is good as I had a cake to make and a meal to go to tonight!

BIL's 65th birthday meal tomorrow and I am in charge of the cake. So I made this. I really, really hope he likes chocolate! A lot!!!

Oh wow Debih, I have seen similar to those before but that is a beauty!!!!! :D :D :D I would love a cake like that!!! :Hi: :Hi:

Have a fab holiday Gal, I did have to chuckle at your predicament though ;) :P

Osc, get better soon!! xxx

Jen I hope you can come up with a suitable plan and a good builder! 8-) Exciting times 8-)

Di I lived in a village like that years ago, near York, so I do get what you mean  ;)

Cruiser it's good to have something to look forward to!! :D :D

Well we popped out to see D but decided to go for a bite to eat in Sainsbury's café, as we had to pick up some bread anyway - Mick and B had a cooked meal so that's saved me cooking later, as I am starting to feel rather tired now! I just had a salad baguette :) D was very pleased to see us, and pleased with the embroidered table-runner that I got her in Corfu town :) I did treat myself to a few nice bits, notably some olive wood salad hands and a lovely hand carved platter, also made from olive. The guy grows his own trees, carves the wood then sells his wares in his own shop 8-) I also bought some lovely scarves, one for Aunty R but two for me  One is aquamarine silk with dull metallic Greek lettering on the bottom and the other petrol green/blue in a very light wool   Not expensive though, in my defence, both under 10 euros   I got H a lovely teeshirt, and B a bracelet and a half bottle of vodka in duty free

I've just got the second load of wash on - just one more and I'm done, and otherwise all unpacked 8-)

D liked her table runner, so that was a hit :D I hope H's teeshirt I bought him fits (I think it will) and I bought Chris a bottle of Ouzo, hope he likes it!

Olive wood is gorgeous, I'll post a pic later; in fact I'll sort out a few and pop them on Photos later :)
