Afternoon :)
That's brilliant with the coffee morning Jen :)

It's a lovely day, very hot again in the sun although for the first time cooler first thing, I needed a short-sleeved t-shirt instead of a sleeveless one :)

Yesterday was a bit cloudy but cleared before lunchtime. We had an adventure and went into Faro by bus. Very easy from here and the bus station in Faro is only 5 minutes' walk from the marina and the old town.
It's a beautiful (city?), reminded us both of Malaga in many ways. It's partly very modern and hustle-bustle but the rest is very old. There are lovely pedestrianised streets - all cobbled - with loads of little shops and cafes that have been there for generations. Oh and as they're so narrow, lots have kite-like canopies high above, for shade.
Then the actual Old Town, which is the part I remember, through a stone archway and you step back in time.
It's completely quiet, ancient stones, a maze of tiny streets with the cathedral at the top.
Houses with just a flat front onto the street and tiny hobbit doors, but glimpse behind and there are pretty gardens, courtyards, like a secret life :)

This morning we went to find the way to the restaurant I wanted to go to tonight, it's in the old town here and although we did find it last week it was only after getting very lost. And we got lost again on the way back!
So today we found it, saving about an hour :) and will go tonight.
Then went to the weekly produce market, I bought some garlic to take home, and some of the particularly nice little chorizo (6 for €2.50!).
And a great big bunch of beautiful pink gerberas for the two ladies who run the local tea/coffee/sandwich/cake shop. I figured it was nicer than an extra tip, they work so hard and it's a lovely place.
We delivered them on the way back and got tears, kisses and hugs :)

Oh how lovely Di, and much appreciated by the sound of it :D :D :D

It sounds as though you've had a terrific time - I remember the little streets in Faro, I went to a restaurant there with some friends many years ago. One of them stole an a little oil lamp from the table (she was a bit tipsy, and the rest of us did tell her off!) but it leaked oil into her handbag - instant karma :P ;)
