I swear by Hotpoint and all our white goods have always been hotpoint 3 washing machines in 35 years still using the 3rd
3 tumble driers hotpoint in 35 years still using the 3rd
3 dishwashers hotpoint still using the 3rd.
Hotpoint give a 5 year guarentee on all parts the first 12 months is completely free after 12 months you just pay for call out even if the machine is beyond repair then they just replace the machine usually with a more modern model than you have had go faulty.
What more can you ask??

To add hotpoint are usually half the price of Bosch, Meile, or any other similar machine.

I have an LG I love it. I know what you mean about some of the programmes being long Kaz. The cotton one is 3 hours but it goes on at night so it doesnt bother me. I like some of the shorter programmes mine does a 14 mins one, but I increase the temp and spin speed so it is a 20 min one. I also like the fact you can do smaller loads, which take less than an hour

I had my Zanussi for 8 years, it was insured and they kept repairing the horrible old smelly thing, I was desperate for a new one.

My LG had no short programmes at all Shell, the shortest was about an hour, and you couldn't tailor the programmes :( Yours sounds a bit better, but although I get that you can put long washes on overnight don't they use a lot of electricity? Nothing should take 2 hours plus to get clean, surely? :) ;)

No I do agree Kaz, the towels go on a cotton wash and 3 hours is ridiculous, it probably does cost a bit, but nothing I can do if I want to wash them on 60 degrees. There is also a baby laundry setting and I had a play with that and that takes a whopping 3 hours 30 mins. How dirty do babies get their clothes for heavens sake

The other long one I use is called hygiene and is a 60, which I use for my bedding. It is shorter than the towels but doesn't spin as fast so what I save in the washing, I would spend in tumble drying if they are not as dry when they come out.

Its far more complicated than my mums old twin tub

I brought over my Zanussi, which was getting on a bit, and bought a Beko too Saundra :D :D about 3 year ago. Nothing fancy, have a half hour wash, which I mostly use, at 30C.

As is one of our fridge/freezers, oven and hob.

But then, they're Spanish and just across the border. You'd think they'd be cheaper, but they ain't

I'm not going to talk about her any more - she made us both mad with her attitude and complete ignorance of how to do things.

and why can't this be done, like in Norway????? Well, Bente, this is Portugal and we do things veeery differently here ;)

But by heck, she's paid a lot of money into the economy
