Morning :)
Rain ;)
I've had a very lazy morning, done nothing much except shower - Bb has at least hoovered :D

Yesterday I made the curry sauce as intended - the recipe for 'good basic sauce' from the Hairy Bikers curry book, but halved it, so we now have 4x2-portions' worth in the freezer. You can either blend it or not, so I've done two of each :)

Knowing it was going to rain again today, I took some pork shoulder steaks out to make a chilli - but have just discovered we have zero tins of tomatoes, and no kidney beans either  :D Bb's not working till after lunch (nice and local) so I might be lazy and whizz to the little Tesco in the village in the car ;)

Oh yes, and we made carrot cake muffins yesterday afternoon :D Bb had saved the recipe, then he came home with two nice fat carrots so it had to be done really ;) They're good - you make the cream cheese frosting, put a spoonful of muffin mix in the cases, then a teaspoon of frosting, then more muffin.
The frosting sort of breaks through the tops as they cook :)

Good afternoon all

Have the car in for servicing and MOT today. They just rang me up to tell me that two of the tyres are below the legal limit
and the other two are close to it. So I told them to fit four new ones - that's another £300 on the bill.

We've had a wet morning here, so it's been indoor jobs for me.

Hope you are all well.

Another night without S! I haven't seen her since Saturday when I dropped her off after work with her friend and her parents at the campsite.

She was due home today but rang to say would it not be better if she stayed at Nannas as a) she was back at Katie's house and Katie lives only 10 minutes walk away from Nanna's and it would save me coming to fetch her; b) it meant she could have a lie in tomorrow as she won't have to get up for me to take her and L to Nannas as I am at work and c) she hasn't seen her grandad for nearly a week and she is missing him.

No mention of missing me!

So its just me and L tonight.

Oh well Debih, it's a lot better than being clingy I suppose :)

I got the chilli on by 1.40 :)
Went into town as I wasn't sure the little branch would have kidney beans, glad I did as spotted packs of 4 Galaxies for £1, and they're one of Bb's favourites ;)
The pork steaks didn't need much trimming so instead of chopping them up I've left them whole - they'll pull apart later.
It's in the s/c, so if it's not ready enough I guess it'll be egg chips & beans :D

hi everyone,

Oh Kaz, Mick has chosen a good time to come to Edinburgh - the weather today is lovely....is he getting some free time tonight to have a wander.......Edinburgh is buzzing at the moment with the fringe/festival on, its amazing!

Not much to report here, but apologies for not being in very often, the 6 weeks summer holidays went by in a flash and been back to work for over a week now....Amy went back to school last Wednesday and is loving it.

I have another 8 days left at work before I leave to start my course, eek! Had a visit to docs today also but will post about that somewhere else....

Hope everyone is good

Hi Poll, no I expect after all the meetings they will be socialising together, no chance of wandering off by himself to take in the sights  His new boss is based in Edinburgh though, so I WILL hitch/blag/steal a lift at some point, you see if I don't 8-) :D

Glad Amy is enjoying school, and I hope your last few days at work go well (((((((((((((((x))))))))))))))))))

I'm a bit biased being a Scottish lass - but Edinburgh is a fantastic place to visit Kaz. :D :D
