Morning all, nice day here, bright and breezy after lots of rain last night. I've done normal sort of tidying up and had a lovely walk, heading for the shower shortly, then we have a meeting with the architect and designer at 3pm. Michael is coming to stay the night, his Mummy and Daddy discovered they both needed to leave home earlier than normal tomorrow and were going to drop him into us early in the morning so we could bring him to playschool, then we said we would take him to stay tonight, easier all around. Have a good day everyone :)

Morning :)
We did have quite a bright start but it's all dull and windy now.

Had to go out early to the Drs (well the nurse), nothing serious but my BP has been a bit high/random. The hospital do it when I'm there, but I've been each week for 3 weeks now, which is the practice protocol apparently. It was lower today, but the nurse thinks next will be one of those 24-hr monitors like Poll had, so will wait to hear about that. They think it's the drugs, as it was never any cause for concern before.

Had to get back for Bb to gt out to the dentist - this is the appt he was meant to have the other week when he got the time wrong! He'll be going straight on to work, so it's as well he's late starting as he has to go up the M27 which has been a complete nightmare this morning, all closed with a big accident (3 lorries), air ambulance, the lot. Hopefully it won't be too bad by the time he gets there.

Hope M's back is better soon Kaz, we all know how horrible it is (((x))) And hope your return to work isn't too awful Gal x

Afternoon, all.

It's a lovely day here. Having a quiet day for a change. Didn't have a very good night -
which I blame on an old brain trying to cope with modern technology.
I won't give up, though.

Taking Prince to the Vets this afternoon. He has started limping. I can't see any obvious
reason so it's probably just old age (He's nearly 12).

Have a nice day.

Have a good day at work anyway Gal, hope it isn't too busy xxxx

Thanks Kaz - we don't have clinic today so it's just me and a pile of admin to sort, but I've had a couple of really irritating people in   There are times I don't think I am cut out for a 'service' job    I hope Mick's back is ok :(

Jen it sounds idyllic - two MORE weeks 8-) I am jealous ;)

Hope your health problem gets sorted out Di xxx

Back to work for the afternoon shift >>>>>>>>>

(((Di))) Hope they can sort this out for you, and that Bry got on ok at the dentist's xxx

Jen I am jealous too   I've told Mick we are retiring to the sun even if it kills us :P - only 12 years to go ;)

Osc I hope you have a lovely time with Michael :D

Aggers is Prince a little arthritic perhaps? Dogs can have glucosamine and omega 3 for their joints

Gal people can be very annoying, anyone who has dealt with the public for a living would agree with you there ;) xx

I've been to town - walked in and back as it's a lovely day now - got some cleaning stuff and bits for the dogs from Wilkos, then some food from Iceland. First I looked everywhere for a green vee neck pullover, a lightweight one to replace an old one that has got too washed out, but no luck. Green is obviously 'out' this season :? Loads of beige, lilacs, and sickly pastel colours though

hi all,

I did not want to get up this morning, was a horrible wet morning and I felt like I just wanted to climb back into bed :( hey ho!

Was working at a high school a few miles away so didn't have to travel too far, got further to go tomorrow - been at a different high school most days for the last few weeks working with the school nurses doing the teenage boosters.

Collected Amy from school and came home, watching the Wizard of Oz now!

The school gave out a letter today saying they have an open afternoon on Thursday - its Monday so doesn't give much time to get away from work early does it - they always do this, give only a few days notice and it does my head in!

Anyway, time for tea, so best go and get it sorted!

Oh, Di, always a good idea to get BP checked, hope they get it sorted

It got worse this afternoon. My boss called in and had a chat with me about a couple of incidents from last week. He was very nice about it but it was definitely a ticking off :| I'm starting to think someone at work has been talking about my stress levels when I have clinic alone - not that I display them at work (apparently) but until they get an extra staff member sorted out, in the short term, he asked if I would prefer to go to Head Office one day a week when holiday cover is needed, therefore only coping one full day alone (there are always at least two staff at HO) - he said Jan was happy to be at our shop on those days. He also said he didn't realise I was struggling as I always seemed to cope really well. I think that was the compliment after the two hits :|

Plus Tom has also had the day from hell.

We should have stayed in Alnwick.

Oh Gal what a shame after your lovely break (((x)))
It might do you some good though, if Jan has a busy day to cope with alone, maybe?
And of course it was a compliment :)

My aunty worked for years and years at the village GP's practice, part-time, on her own. She'd gradually got more and more stressed and tired out, and had constantly told the powers that be, very nicely at first and then more desperately, that she couldn't possibly manage.
When she retired (early), she was first replaced with someone doing the same hours - 4 times within as many months

After each one in turn had said exactly the same, eventually there were 2 people, job-sharing 1 full-time post, plus one part-time. And when she went in, they still said how busy it was!
All the while you seem to manage, nothing will be done.
