Morning all :D

Haven't seen much UK news, the tv in our apartment is digital but it's mainly American channels. The little we have heard sounds bad especially in Somerset. Hope nobody on VV is affected.

We had a tiny taste yesterday, our first 'proper' tropical downpour late afternoon. We'd just been supermarket shopping and came out just as it started. Oh boy does it come down fast and heavy, the roads were absolutely running with water and parts of the carpark became a lake within minutes. People were actually wading to their cars, the water was well above ankle level. Luckily we weren't parked in the worst of it. It was quite amazing to see how quickly it all happened :o

Back to normal this morning, the sun's out and shining brightly. We're off to the beach shortly.

Hope you're all having a good day :D

Good afternoon everybody.
Lovely blue sky here. Not had any rain today and no wind. Have started packing for our holiday.
Ally, for pictures of the floods in Somerset, and the damage to the railway at Dawlish, log on to BBC south west and there are several clips showing different scenes including one of a train going through flood water as well as parts of the track near the sea without any support underneath.
