It's more a case of me liking to feed my boys Gal..I'll go to my grave saying to them..."have you eaten?"

I do have more time in the washing/ironing department now that all the men in this house do their own ironing...those 2 weeks away I had in June made them realise there was no laundry fairy.

I'd be the same but I don't enjoy cooking particularly and Jen really does, so she cooks most nights - she wasn't feeling too well last night so I offered to make the carbonara I had thought we'd have. She heard me chopping onions and ended up taking over the reins

I'll miss her when she moves out - one day :(

Morning all :D

Been up ages, had a client just after 9am. Only just managed to get E out of bed and off to fetch the papers. A nice lazy leisurely brekkie beckons :D

It's his Echo this afternoon, not til 4.30 though so I expect he'll be a bit edgy as the day goes on.

Hope you all have a good day :D

Morning :)
Dark and wet here again, really strong wind though, that might blow it away - ever the optimist :D

Bb's still not back to working properly - is avoiding the motorways for now, just doing the more local jobs. He's absolutely fine driving, I've been out with him and we've checked/tested what he can see but he's aware that really he needs a new prescription so not taking any chances.
He was at home yesterday and is today, but will be working tomorrow. So yesterday we got a nice lot of sorting-out jobs done; he took the latest garden rubbish plus some old junk to the tip; we flogged a load of old Dvds, Nintendo ds, and PS2 games on musicmagpie, went through all the bookcases and did a cull for the charity shops, and the same with some old toys etc. Always feels good to get rid of stuff :D

Today we were going out, over to where we used to live, but the weather's awful (and part of the point of going is to go down to the beach or the river) and my back's playing up again, so just a trip into town instead with hopefully a haircut for himself.

Gal I'm sure the mess and noise will be worth it :)
Hope everyone's having a good day
Di

It is persisting down here, as it has done since yesterday evening. :x :x :x

I might shampoo the carpets seeing as they will dry with the heating on.

Good luck to Mr J for this afternoon, and to Di with her back - exercise helps, or so they say. :|

Good afternoon all!

It's actually just stopped raining and the sun's been trying to peep through the clouds, a definite improvement on yesterday when it barely stopped raining all day (and night).
I've been to the gym, taken Billy for a run, swept and mopped the kitchen, cleaned the kitchen, ironed...just having some lunch and then I think I'll clean the windows inside.

Jen, good luck to E for this afternoon!

Di, I hope your back eases as the day goes on xx

Gal, trust me there's always plenty to do with two teenage boys, a dog and a husband (did I mention the mess he was in on Sunday when he came back from his bike ride? I'd just that second walked downstairs from cleaning the bathrooms, and I'd hoovered all through before that, when he walked through the gate caked from head to foot in mud - he was given firm instructions not to get dirt anywhere so stripped off in the garage and toweled most of it off before coming indoors ).

Have a good day everyone!

Afternoon all, weather mixed here, a fair amount of rain and some sun too and it's still fairly mild. I put towels on the line when the sun was shining.........they are still there but probably wetter than when they went out  Been doing some tidying around as my cousin is coming from England tonight to stay a couple of days. She has organised a "ladies' lunch" tomorrow for her female cousins, I could do without it really, but it is in one of Dublin's smarter hotels, so sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do ;) She is not due to get here until around 9pm, so with any luck we will get to watch the final of GBBO in peace. Have a good day everyone :)

I went out in the end! Harry left his big coat here on Sunday - I found it in his room - so I washed it, parcelled it up and then took it into town to send it back to him  £8 postage, and it's only a puffa-style!  No wonder the PO are in trouble, you need a second mortgage to use them! :o Whilst there I stocked up on cleaning stuff in Wilko as it is much cheaper than Sainsbury's, and then walked up to see my MIL - not long been in! 8-)

Gal for the first few weeks after B moved out I felt lost and pretty bored, but I have adjusted. We have the new pup who is making a bit more work for me LOL so there is plenty to do round here, for once I have NO ironing waiting, the freezer is well stocked up with baking and cooking, and I get out and about almost every day.........I could sit on me bum eating choccy all day I guess, but that isn't me! :-P  Hope your en suite is soon finsished and the mess worth it 8-) :)

Osc I hope your cousin's visit goes better than my vistor's did last week xxxx

Hugs for your back (((((Di))))) and for anyone else needing one xxxxx
