Morning all :D
The weather yesterday was atrocious--the rain even found it`s
way through the conservatory roof although we can`t find any
holes :o
The sun is out at the moment so will peg the washing out that
has been in the machine since yesterday.
Had flu jab yesterday and so far it is fine not like last year when
I felt rotten for a week with it :D
Going to Canterbury later and then back to ask our little man who
does the garden to pick the rest of the apples.
We have so many this year (from one tree) that I have been lady
bountiful and taken some to a lot of the neighbours who were delighted
as they are the old English Worcesters.

That's really good news Loz :)

Oh I love Worcesters Lissie, where we lived till I was 10 we had lots of fruit trees, the two eaters were both Worcesters :)

It's all cleared up here, it's quite nice now :)

Afternoon all, heading towards wintry here today - grey, windy and chilly :( We had a bit of a sleep on, as we got to bed later than usual last night. The Late Late show chopped up the video of Michael and left out the best bit, but did ally it with a photo of Bill Clinton and Rory McIlroy who played golf together here in Dublin earlier in the week. Got a brief glimpse of Miss Osc in the audience and a few glimpses of SIL. The video was at the start of the programme, and we were reminded why we never watch this programme as it was rubbish and the presenter is terrible - SIL hit the nail on the head when he came home, he said the presenter isn't interested enough in the people he interviews and that does come across. This morning they did a Skype interview with a Japanese tv company  They were asked could Michael be brought into it and he wasn't too shy, actually hit a few shots for them - it seems they are going to include it in some programme in November. I would imagine it will all begin to tail off now as the internet will focus on whatever comes along this weekend

There's a dance on this evening, we may go if we are not too tired, and as himself has a cold, if he is feeling ok. Tomorrow we are going to a tea dance in the Irish Museum of Modern Art which is housed in the old Royal Hospital here - they are reopening after a big two year refurbishment and the dance (which is free) is being held in the Great Hall to the music of a big band, so that should be fun.

I suppose I will scale another peak of the mountain of ironing  Have a good day everyone :)

Afternoon all. I have surfaced. (Well actually I surfaced at about 10am but only now have the energy to do anything other than lie on the sofa).

Last night was fab but boy am I suffering this morning.

There were about 80 of us (I know as there were 10 tables of 8 for the meal and I can count) and nearly everyone was dressed up. The birthday boy had no idea - his wife sent him to fetch something from the function room and there we all were!

The food was brilliant - she is such a good cook. There was a choice of 4 starters (soup, moules mariners, prawn cocktail and something else), 4 main courses (duck a la orange, chicken kiev, beef strogonoff and a veggie option) and four puds (black forest gateaux, baked alaska, pineapple cheesecake and crepes). We all chose ages ago - I had prawn, chicken and black forest gateaux. There was wine on the tables. His birthday cake was a tower of round cheeses which were served later in the evening.

I have no idea what time I left or what time I got home!

I am just about to start reading adoption papers and then need to go and fetch the girls from my mums. They aren't riding today as the weather is so horrific.

I am supposed to be going to my school reunion this evening but I don't think I am going to bother. I was having a long chat about it last night with some friends (one of whom is the local vicar - it is very odd speaking to a vicar who is wearing a kaftan, cowboy hat and a long rastafarian wig!!) and they were saying why bother. If you want to go, go; if you don't don't. If I'd wanted to keep in touch with people I was at school with then I would have done!

I was going to go with my friend Lisa but she isn't well and doesn't think she is going so that will settle it for me I think - if she goes, I will go.
Life begins at the end of your comfort zone!
