Miss 4 does that too. She's asked for a hamper so she can put her dirty clothes in when she takes them off.
But omg the drama queen behaviour!! Hands on hips, feet stamping, heavy brows..... No idea where she has picked that up. I'm dreading the teenage years if she behaves like this at 4!

I may have to start saving for boarding school

oh my, i hope you survived Debs!

I am dreading it, I have to admit!

Miss Amy has moments of attitude with me and as soon as she says something with that 'tone' she says sorry right away as she realises she shouldn't have spoken to me like that!

I am quite strict with attitude and behaviour, think as its only me, there is nobody else to back me up and be 'the boss' so I lay down the law, in hope that in years to come she knows not to push me! I just have to raise my voice a bit and she cries, thats a result, don't even need to shout lol!

the joys!

They eventually shut up at 4am - but only because I really shouted at them. They seem to have this fascination with staying awake as late as possible.

Tbh, they didn't keep me away - it was Mick shouting at them at 1am and 3am that woke me up. He couldn't be bothered to go downstairs (we are in the attic) so just shouted - I was fast asleep at the time. I went back to sleep the first time but at 3am I couldn't drop off again and so shouted at them at 4am. Didn't hear a peep from them after that.

They are all lounging around in their onesies now (L has joined them) debating about going into town. They can't be bothered to walk and I have told them in no uncertain terms that I won't be taking them so they are going to catch the train. I have told them that the train (which only runs every two hours) leaves in 25 minutes and it will take them 10 minutes to walk to the station. They are sitting around debating about what to wear rather than getting a shift on to catch the train. Looks like they will be walking then.

S will be seriously punished for keeping me awake. She needs her sleep so I will tell her later that as she usually goes to bed at 9pm (although generally later at the weekend) by not going to sleep until 4am it means that she 7 hours down on her sleep. So this evening she will be in bed by 7pm (phone and ipod not in her room), the same tomorrow and Tuesday night and 8pm on Wednesday night.

Little sh*ts!

They really are a different species aren't they Debbie? :x

Tom and I have had two arguments so far today.
The first was over the fact that when I got up this morning there were two empty coffee cups in the living room. One was Tom's from last night, I'd left it there thinking he could take it down this morning - I hate cups being left around but I'm not starting that trick of picking up after him - and the other was fresh. Joe was still in bed, I'd only just got up, John has a small mug of tea in a morning and rarely drinks coffee anyway....but you know what?? They were nothing to do with Tom!!!

Second was that we had a sort out the other night, I gave him a load of Wii games to put in his room - I even stacked them all in a DVD stand - and said that I didn't want them putting in any of the units in the living room or spare room. That was the whole idea of the sort out, to get the games and DVDs out of the units. So...I just went into the unit in the spare room for something and what do I find, thrown into one of the boxes (we have those Ikea units with the large squares which you can put nice boxes into) so it would hardly pull out??? According to him though I didn't say a word about not putting them back into the units :x :x :x

They are a law unto themselves.

I borrowed a book from the library a while ago and it was so good I brought it in kindle format and also told my friend about it and she bought it too. We call it our bible and refer to it regularly to keep us sane!!!!

Diva's and Doorslammers. It explains the workings of the teenage mind - the blurb states that it can help every parent break the miserable pattern of constant confrontation, endless negotiations and repetitive nagging.

I have to say it is very good and really does help - but I have to keep rereading bits of it to keep me on track!!!!

She won't be happy when she gets home as I am really cross with the way she spoke to me as she left. They were going to have to run for the train and she put on her stupid high heeled trainers. I don't want to make a huge fuss in front of her friends as I know that will get us nowhere so when she comes home she will get the lecture, do her homework, have a bath, tidy her pit of a room, have her dinner and be in bed by 7pm. And her ipod and mobile are going to be living downstairs for the week!

Oooooooooooo - she's really in trouble now.

Yesterday they went into the village and onto the park and when they got back I overheard them saying that one of S's friends had got the number of a boy they had met down there. I said that was a very silly thing to do to just give your number out to a random person. He is 13 apparently.

I have just been looking on S's FB account (as I do now and again to keep an eye on her) and I noticed that she has sent some private messages to someone who's name I didn't recognise. Nothing sinister - just a "Hi", "Hi its S" and a photo of her. Because I didn't recognise the name I had a look at his profile - some lad from Derby. Now I know that she doesn't know anyone from Derby so I am wondering if it is this lad they met. He does look around 12 or 13 but even so.

She will get a grilling and a bollocking when she gets home and I will also be checking her phone! She knows better - or at least I thought I had taught her to know better!

Having had 4 of the little buggers, can I just say, that the middle one of the boys (he's now 42  ) is the bestest dad I could ever think of for his 2 kiddlywinks xx

And he was the worst of the lot

He would leave the smallest sliver of cheese, the least amount of butter in the fridge, the one who had all the girlfriends over (we have to get up early in the morning mum,as we're off to.....) and they'd be still asleep at midday.

They will grow up to be the most bestest people, because you're doing the right thing, honest, even if you don't think so at the moment.

Debih, have a huge, huge hug xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
