Well I have read it all, now. I think people wanting to live in this country should be forced by law to obey our laws/ways of living/equality - or they should feel free to leave - asap. I just cannot believe a school such as this is allowed to flourish in the UK.

There was a huge amount of contreversy (sp) around it when it opened up. I don't really know too much about it as Derby is a few miles away from us and our local paper doesn't cover the area and I don't read the Derby Telegraph.

The school is currently under investigation for financial irregularities and the press must have picked up on this but focused on the hijab thing as from what I can gather from someone I know that works there, the hijab thing is nothing new. That, and the girls sitting at the back of the class, have been in force since the school first opened a year ago.

I find it quite terrifying. I think living in the SW we are quite protected from issues like these.

I think it's about time all this nonsense was stopped.

I wonder what UKIP's policy is on such things. (I know what mine would be).

This is England, for God's sake.

It seems the school has been closed.

Wow - must have been bad to force them to shut down part way through an ofsted inspection.

I know that they don't actually have a proper building and are using old offices so I assume that has something to do with the health and safety issue.

It should have been closed for the inequalities for the girls and the ridiculous hijab rule, but if Health and Safety did the trick then I'm glad for it!

I'm with Cal on this 8-)

I think it's been closed simply so that there are no children there during the OFSTED inspection period, so the inspectors can't see what's going on.

Don't laugh, but I recall that not long ago we had an OFSTED inspection of a local nursery school that took place when there were no children present, and it received an "Excellent" rating .....
