WM our PO in the city centre is like that - I was in there today! Loads of people hanging around with tickets looking non-plussed and half the cashiers sat there doing sweet you-know-what!

Taking a ticket always reminds me of the old system at the cheese counter at Sainsburys

We take a ticket for everything here Kaz.

Butchers? Take a ticket.
Chemist? Take a ticket.

Hospital. take a ticket to book in.

Ally, our bank is only a little branch too, but very good. As they used to be.

The deli at ASDA used to have tickets, then they did away with it, the ticket machine.... the resulting scrum was great fun. :D

Then they did away with the deli......

Now we have deli meats sold in packs. We cannot now get two slices of....

All done to enhance our 'customer experience'. Right! We had a 'Bring back the deli' campaign', what a success that was!

I love our local bank.

Even though Santander is a huge name in the banking world our little branch is great.

The staff love to practise their English on me when I go in.

And they have bowls of sweets on the counter. :P :P

And chocolate at Christmas. :D :D

Result!

We are with Santander. There are two branches in our town, one being the old Bradford and Bingley premises. Know most of the staff at the main branch. Mrs.e went in today. The lady cashier said to her that it is usually me who does the transactions. Have been in when a member of staff have asked people waiting to be served if they only want to deposit money this can be done without seeing a cashier. I am usually transferring money from one account to another which I will not do online.
