Good evening everyone :)

Well, it started off as a normal Monday - out with my mate Em for lunch and a bit of shopping, but just as we got near to the top of my road on the way home we saw the road blocked off by emergency services, and the big dip under the railway bridge full of water, really deep! :o We couldn't get through, so I went home with Em. Rang Mick, both our water and electricity were off  He came to pick me up, via the back roads of Innsworth, and we've decamped up to D's who has power but no water. We had a big pack of bottled water in the boot of the car, so will be round here until power is back at home. They've promised us back on by 10pm - fingers crossed!

Oh no Kaz, hope you’re back home by now.

Our night didn’t go to plan either. John managed to get out of work on time, which rarely happens, so we could have a quick dinner and then head off into Birmingham.
Off we went at 6.30, down the slip road at junction 11 and then we saw that the M6 was at a standstill. I quickly checked the Highways England app (which I usually do before we set off anywhere but hadn’t tonight) and there’d been an accident this afternoon down by jct 10 and the motorway was closed. I looked on Twitter and someone had tweeted that they’d been stationary for four hours. Thankfully it cleared very slowly, but we didn’t get into Birmingham until nearly 8.30 - it’s usually only 20 minutes down the M6!
Parked up and had to head to M&S first, but the steps up to High St by the Rotunda were closed off so we had to rush through the underpass to Moor St and go that way. Very very quickly got what I needed and then ran to H&M Home just before they closed for something for Tom.

Blimey Jo, it must have been one of those days!

We came home about 10.30, despite nothing being back on. We went to bed by torchlight, then awoke as the power came back on at about 12.30am! Got up to switch everything off  :? This morning our water pressure was a bit low, but otherwise back to normal :x
