Ria, I said to John at the time that the council were possibly trying to beat a potential lockdown. I took that photo on 27/9 but they were actually up the week before that.

Funnily enough I had a WhatsApp message on the neighbour group just after I posted this. Nicky two doors down has suggested that we go all out on the close this Christmas and she’s looked into getting a string of lights to hang across between the houses. She’s trying to drum up enough interest to split the £380 for 100m of lighting to make it a fair amount per household. I think it sounds a lovely idea, we did it with bunting over the Summer and it really lifted the spirits when you saw it.

As for the tree, John practically has to hide the garage key on Boxing Day to stop me from going in there for the boxes and taking the trees down. I’ve had enough of it by then

I will put up the Christmas decorations at the end of November. It will include a small tree in the window, with a church, and other small items
which can be seen outside.
We have a small crib which we have kept out all year in the lounge. It is over 20 years old.
We will miss going to Carol concerts. We like the one's they had at Bridgewater Hall in Manchester.
Have been to the Christmas markets in Cologne Maarstrich and Lincoln.
No Santa going round the town with his reindeer and no pantomines.
