The sea every time, but if not that, then the moors of the Peak district!

The Dales are nice, or the North York moors.
Basically, any beautiful countryside with not too many people around. We visited the Abruzzo in Italy once and parts are really beautiful.
Oh! And coming over the lagoon on an early summers morning and seeing Venice for the first time.

Not so much the seaside for me - I do prefer the hills. If we're out for the day, I'll tend to gravitate over to Worcestershire (Clent Hills, the Malverns), rather than the flat plains of Warwickshire or Leicestershire.

Two of my favourite soccer grounds visited this season are Bishops Cleeve (Gloucestershire, near Kaz) and Evesham, both of which have sweeping unobstructed views of the hills nearby. Something to gaze at when the on-field action is rubbish! :D

We must get up to the Derbyshire Peak District again sometime ....

I know I have posted pictures in the past of the views we had in Switzerland. That was stunning, lake and mountains. Back here in the UK I am lucky enough to have views of the countryside, but to make it perfect I would like a gentle quiet riverside view (that never flooded of course!).

I'm like Ally - I love the grandeur of mountain scenery.

Coastal scenery can be lovely, too, but I find just looking at the sea can be boring.
