We're going into Ourique this afternoon, as Grumpy has to have an eye test before he applies for his Portuguese driving licence. As he's feeling a but better, we might have a pit-stop at the bar on the way back.

It did go well thanks Jan, just updated on my thread about from yeterday Hope Grumpy's eye test went well

Mine did! A very nice young man tested my eyes, got very intrigued by my weird eye thing "It's as though they are the eyes of two different people " what with my monovision thingy, and when he showed me the photos I could see what he meant! Both eyes nice and healthy, but each a totally different shape and different pigmentation at the back of my eye! Weird! "Do you drive, as your depth perception must be a real problem? Also the 3D effect, at the cinema, that doesn't work does it?" Well nope, and nope! Once we got over all that excitement he prescribed me new distance specs - Reactolite to double up as sunglasses - and my first ever reading glasses.

One of the lovely girls out front helped me pick two frames, and I came out £240 lighter, but very happy with the service there. Specs to be collected Saturday week

Kaz I am impressed you have never had reading specs before! I have a minus and a plus eye too - nobody can see with my specs on!! I'm using my distance ones less and less, I can see well enough with no correction but deffo need them for close up! I'm going to have some computer specs soon, so they'll help with very close (like reading a book) as well as slightly further away (computer screen). Need a check up first though and as usual when you work there, you never seem to have time for a checkup!

Aquafit early again yesterday morning (last early start next week, sadly) and still no Ann! We all getting quite worried as she's been a regular for years....but nobody had any contact details for her. We came out and headed for the café and there she was - she had a tale to tell, of course! She's had a nightmare of a fortnight, a burst ulcer! She's very lucky to still be here....touch and go for a while and if it hadn't been for her hubby getting the paramedics out right away.....

So she's had a procedure where they put a camera down and it does some sealing to the top of the stomach....she has to have it again later next month to make sure it's working and plenty of rest in the meantime! So she won't be at Aquafit for a while.....at least we know - and we all swapped numbers!!!
