Afternoon :)
Fairly bright and breezy here - and cold!

Jen you had to read Ton's post, it was a typo ;)
Osc that sounds fun, we used to take the boys on the train quite a lot, as you've said they tend to get driven everywhere so it's a novelty. And more relaxing for the would-be driver :)

I've been to a session on aromatherapy this morning, jolly interesting.
The second half, we had to sniff four different essential oils in turn, working in groups, then say whether we knew what they were, what they reminded us of if not, and what we thought they might be used for.
Then we got to bring home an inhaler stick with the oil of our choice.
I chose the orangey one which is actually Yellow mandrin (that's how she spelt it but she is dyslexic so not sure!) which is just a lovely, happy sort of smell :)
As opposed to Ravensara which to me smelt like toilet disinfectant

One of them presumably works to dampen your appetite as I've only just had lunch! - more likely all those smells added together were a bit much tbh, needed time to recover :)

Hope you're all having a good day

Smells are so powerful, aren't they Di? :)

Lissie I hope the results will be good :)

Hope you are having a lovely time Osc!

Had a nice mooch but it's still a bit early to buy much. We got some tomato plants, an aubergine and a pepper for the greenhouse though - going back in a few weeks for some hanging baskets and bedding plants. I did get a nice plant bracket to fit on the fence 8-)

Definitely too early for new plants Kaz, they're warning of wintry showers next week

Smells certainly are powerful; I did make them laugh when the therapist asked what we thought one of them would be used for, and I said disinfecting the toilet :D
Strange, the ylang ylang smelt pretty awful, but used with other ingredients it's gorgeous, I know it's in my favourite body lotion! :)

Evening everyone - well a day that went quite different to what I thought.... Originally it was leaving the house at 9am to collect Nadine at Gatwick, drop her home, head off for a nail appointment at 11h30 and then do what I wanted.... whilst Nadine had a shower, headed off for her own nail appointment at 12h30, relax and collect Amelia from school at 3.15....

Well, reality was - 8am call from Karl to say their other car was faulty and he was struggling to find a garage to fix problem unknown. So instead of the above I ended up spending the day with Nadine (admittedly never difficult anyway and good to catch up after 3 weeks away), flight was delayed resulting in nail appointments delayed until tomorrow, car taken to garage for a fix (playing the hapless female does work you know :D ), school pick up done, a bit of grocery shopping done (Karl did most, but he's not keen on green stuff so sort of missed that bit :D oh and some prosecco 0 vital! :o     )

So I only got home about 4.30.... so totally unplanned but good fun

tomorrow it'll be to the garden centre and get the compost and have a look at some veg plants. But as you've said Di - the weather is just not 100% quite right yet. I've got some tomatoes that self seeded so will take my cue from them.... but not convinced it's anywhere near warm enough yet

But hey - any excuse for a good mooch around a garden centre

You'll have to put up with normal Portuguese wine here

I've already got red, white and green, just waiting for the pink to be on a special offer.

Had a lovely family day. The children enjoyed the train, and it is a 20 minute walk to the National Concert Hall - we went through St Stephens Green, which is a lovely park in the middle of the city. The event was really well set up. In the foyer there were some musicians walking around showing the children the instruments and letting them try if they wanted. You could collect your picnic, a sandwich of your choice, a piece of fruit, juice or water, a mini Milky Way or similar, a packet of sweets and a bag of popcorn. Then in the next room, there were cloths and cushions laid out in the floor (plus tables and chairs) so everyone had their picnics and listened to the band. The singer worked hard with the children, we thought they could have had a few more action songs, like the Birdie Song, but otherwise it was very well organised.

Afterwards we went to the playground in St Stephens Green for a while, then to Starbucks (so Mummy, Grandad and Granny could have a nice hot drink and a sit down!) Kellie slept in the buggy all the way to the station and home in the train. She was very good though, especially as she is in the throes of the terrible twos! Picked up two pizzas on the way home, very nice they were too.

I love St Stephens Green Osc, I always seem to find myself in there when in Dublin. It's great for people watching too.
