Good afternoon all, it's dull here although not raining at the moment. It's very mild though.

John left at some silly time as he had to be in Sunderland for 9.30am. He wasn't happy about going. When he was there last week he did what he's gone to do today, which is to talk the site manager through the job which is to be installed, but in the last week the site manager has been switched to another job so his replacement needs to know what's what now. John said that it's not even his job to do that, he's the manager of the drawing office, it's the responsibility of the site manager's department manager.

Joe's in college although I'm expecting him home shortly. He never seems to do a full day on Wednesdays.

Cromwell, I once caught Billy digging a hole in the middle of the lawn to bury one of my new Converse in

Have a good day all.

Good afternoon,
The plumber has gone, having fitted new taps on the bath and a new mixer valve in the separate shower. Both modern looking with ceramic valves which means only a quarter turn from off to full bore.
Good price and we will give him extra as he came on time and left everywhere clean and tidy.
Hope we don't need him till next year for the annual boiler service.

Afternoon all, I don't know where the day goes :? It was dull and damp earlier, but has now brightened up to quite a pleasant day. My sister called this morning, stayed a short while, and when she was gone, I went and did the supermarket shop while Mr Osc made some bread and tidied around. This afternoon I've done some sorting out of clothes in the attic, putting away winter stuff, getting out lighter things and putting some in the bag I always have on the go for charity. I was also looking for a particular photo of Miss Osc as a baby - didn't find it but then I remembered that the relevant scrapbook went to her house when Kellie was born, never came back and I think got lost somewhere in their two moves since then  Hard to imagine that my baby will be 40 on Friday, how on earth did that happen  Mr Osc and Michael had a great time at the soccer match last night, I collected two tired but happy boys from the station just after 11pm!

He sounds gorgeous, Cromwell :D

Bitter cold out there today, and raining on and off - brrrr!! Met Emma after my appointment, at the new drive-thru Costa's near Morrisons. We didn't drive thru though, we sat inside

A dull and dismal day here - but very much enlivened by the sighting of a male green woodpecker - with his distinctive red cap - on the patio, right in front of the windows, grubbing up ants from between the stones. We watched him for about 5 minutes, he was only about 10 feet away from us! So we've seen both male and female of the species, close up and personal, in our back garden now. Apparently there are breeding pairs in the trees surrounding the local cemetery; it's about a 1/4 of a mile away.

How lucky you are, Ostrich.

We love watching the birds that come to feed from the fat-ball feeder in a tree a few yards
from our lounge window. We have seen many types, but have not been lucky enough to see
any woodpeckers.

I've heard woodpeckers in the woods before but never seen one, I only said to John the other day though that I hadn't heard one for a while.
