Hope that's sorted the loo, Gal. Let us know who's eating the biscuits!

It's raining here now but I managed to walk Billy for four miles through the woods before it started.

Saundra, glad you're feeling a bit better. Take it easy xx

Joe's still in bed. Tom's working this evening so he'll be back just after Midnight. I'm just about to make his bed up and stick his radiator on. I'd changed the bedding earlier in the week but couldn't be bothered at the time to fight with the duvet

Afternoon :)
Dull old day here, still have the lights on!

Got some washing done, thank goodness. Our super new washing m/c needed adjusting. The filter, where you let out the water after drying, was too near the floor so you couldn't get eg a tray underneath, the water ran over the floor :?
So this morning we pulled the m/c out and Bb held up each corner while I adjusted the feet, so it's higher off the floor. It's a success, we can now get a shallow baking tray right under it so the water goes in the tray instead of all over the floor!
Obviously didn't need the dryer till the weather got bad, so hadn't realised before. Why do they release products with such ridiculous design defects??

Anyway, can catch up on the washing now - off to empty this lot :)

Gal there was a cat on fb looked rather like Smudge but their newsfeed is so random I couldn't find it when I went back - but it did say this one wasn't chipped, and I'm sure you said Smudge was?

Afternoon all, it was raining earlier on but has now upgraded slightly to dull, damp and dreary with occasional spits of rain, very mild though. I went for a walk around the block and didn't need my gloves. The tree and decorations are all down and put away and the place has been cleaned, all nice and fresh looking. The soupmaker is coming to the end of its cycle, so a nice bowl of soup will be ready shortly. I might do some ironing, but I might not :cute: We have been without land line and broadband since lunchtime Wednesday but thankfully it came back on this morning phew  we were thankful for 3G

Glad it's all back on Osc. We'd be stuck here! Most of the time we barely get a mobile signal in the house (me and John are both on different networks too) and certainly no 3G or 4G - I'd have to go and stand in the middle of the woods where the signal is strong and picks up 4G perfectly

Yes he is, Di, I had a message from one lady at the other end of the village who thought it was Smudge she'd seen about a week ago, but today's message said she'd seen it close up and it definitely wasn't Smudge, his chin wasn't white and Smudge's is. So that's ruled out. Another guy from that area commented on one of the posts too but think that was the same one as the lady saw.

Still haven't seen the biscuit-eater, but it's rained this afternoon and they'd have got wet and soggy....I'll pop them out again later, perhaps the security light will click on if anything comes to the bowl ;)

The floor and carpet in the bathroom are still soaked through, and I've had the heating on all day plus a little fan heater in there, it's boiling! I probably need to lift the carpet but it'll take two of us I think....it's a shame as I had plans for having this room re-done this year anyway, I don't want to spend money on tarting it up to then upgrade it, but it'll be horrible in the meantime :(

Gal, why not get a piece of lino in the meantime. Most look really amazing these days and aren't overly expensive at all...

I was going to say the same as Ria, definitely lino, vinyl or even adhesive floor tiles. Cheap as chips and (dare I say) much easier to keep clean.

We bought a nice piece of vinyl for Tom and Joe's bathroom a few months ago - £25 off Ebay. The seller was the Flooring Superstore which I believe is in your area Gal. I was a bit worried it'd look cheap but it doesn't, and it's warm underfoot.

The thing is, there was a flooring of sorts down before, they'd stuck laminate slabs down and I'll be honest, I hated it. So when the chance came to lay a warm piece of carpet, I loved the effect of it, and the feel of it as you step out the bath :) I hate cold floors.

It's still soaking wet and although the room smells of wee, the carpet doesn't. I'm flummoxed.

Honestly, I really think vinyl or something similar and a good bathmat to step onto xxxx
