Netto is back!

Postby Workingman » 06 Nov 2014, 11:39

Huzzah! Its first new store is just a few mins down the ring road. I am going to have to go do a shop.

I am so looking forward to loading the belt and then seeing if I can move fast enough to scoop everything back in the trolley before going to look for a box to put it in.

We used to buy some of their tinned 'meals' for the dog, it was cheaper than pet food.

We don't have anything like that near us.... :( for me the closest are either Poundland or the Pound Store both in Woking. Aldi and Lidl are 1/2 hour minimum drive away; provided there is no traffic

I need to move ;)

We used to have a Netto on the outskirts of town - blink and you missed it though! It was Kwik Save, then Iceland and then that was demolished and Netto was built in it's place and it wasn't open for 5 minutes before Asda took over!

We've got two Aldi stores within a 2 mile radius, we did have a Lidl but that closed down and turned into a B&M.

Have you got a Home Bargains nearby? I love Home Bargains!

Good news, had some super bargains from them in the past but I can`t see anywhere obvious they could set up here.

I was going to say: "not for Netto" but I could be wrong. :o

What a change! Not a pallet to be seen anywhere, good wise aisles, a natural progression through the goods, and if today's quality and prices are what things are going to stay like I will keep going back. :D

There is a mix of known brands and some of their own, they even have a "cheap" range! A lot of the cooked meats are European, similar to Aldi, and the range of cheeses knocks spots off some of the majors. I have seen many of the yoghurt brands in Champion and Carrefoure in France. They are almost giving wine away!

Jo, we have a Home Bargains just in town, it is the place I shop for household cleaners, deodorants and laundry cleaners.

Ped, it is a shame they won't be down south for a while. They are opening mainly in Yorkshire and the North, initially, because they know how tight we are with money. If the plan works here it will work anywhere. :P :P :P

I've never been to a Netto but it sounds intriguing 8-) I do remember Kwik Save though, did they go bust or something? :?:

I really loved Netto,s
You never knew what you would find there :D
The one in Canterbury was like a lucky dip.
You went in for a beef joint and came out with an
Electric drill as it was so cheap !!
