Morning all. Brrrrr, its cold here this morning. I had to scrape the ice of the car window.
Took L to school this morning and then met up with a friend for dog walking - just back and about to make some porridge.
Pottering at home today - although I'm not intending on doing much as I'm exhausted. I have lots of recorded programmes to catch up with so that is my job for the day.
Dad is home - he got home at about 6.45 last night (the ambulance was supposed to pick him up at 2pm but didn't arrive until 6pm
). Mick has to call in on the ward today though as they didn't send his shoes home with him. And he has to have this special powder in all his drinks and they sent enough for about 3 drinks with him so mum is having to ring the doctors this morning to see if she can get an emergency prescription for it so I will probably have to pop out to collect that later today. What a farce!
The carers came twice yesterday - once at 4pm, expecting him to be home and then again between 9pm and 10pm to get him to bed. Mum said they were lovely. They are going to be coming at 10am, 1pm, 4pm and then between 9pm and 10pm every day. So they will get him up at 10am and take him through to the conservatory, at 1pm take him from conservatory to lounge, not sure what they will do at 4pm (unless he is ready for going to bed) and then put him to bed on their last call. Mum can't do any of it on her own as he needs two people to move him so its going to be a huge help for her. I've told her that, depending on how long they are there for, she could perhaps pop round to her friend next door for coffee on one of the times they come.
L is off to see Stomp (a drumming thing) at Sheffield tonight with school so she is going to a friends house for tea (I am picking them up at 10.30pm), S is going to my mums straight after school for tea so I have to pick her up around 7pm. So a busy evening - therefore a quite day is required.
Good luck at the poppies Jen - they say that the place is heaving with visitors now. And good luck Ton.
