No egg sandwiches....

Postby Workingman » 21 Jun 2014, 11:02

My neighbours' little ones are both at the same nursery and next week 'weather permitting' they are going to have a picnic in the grounds with a big tent and some outdoor games.

The normal, and fairly strict, rules about packed lunches have been relaxed so that almost anything goes....... except egg sandwiches - because they "smell".

I have to add that it has all been done in a fun way with the kiddies involved, it' s not a proscribed policy. Nobody wants to be 'eggy smelly' at a picnic, do they! :o

They have also been asked not to bring in things that might go off or melt in the heat as the place does not have the chiller facilities to keep things at a safe temp.

Egg and tomato sandwiches with black pepper are the best there is.

You can't have a picnic without egg sandwiches :o :o :o and here in Ireland you can't have a picnic without Kimberly biscuits ;)

not the chocolate ones though, they are a recent invention and not half as nice.

I have looked at Rosie's biscuits.....

Texture [medium density fibre board - with a squirt of bath sealant]

I'll stick to digestives. :D :D :D
