TCP man

Postby cromwell » 06 Oct 2013, 12:45

We went to take C's Uncle Jud on the pension run this week. C has many uncles and aunts and three of them live together in the house where they grew up. Whilst we were waiting in the house for Jud to get ready I sat down and said hello to Benjy, the house dog. Auntie Violet said to C (out of my hearing) that Benjy had been scratting a lot, and I shouldn't really be sitting in Benjy's chair.
"Oh it's all right" says C, "he doesn't mind" (!!).
Uncle Jimmy, who owns Benjy, said he had put been treating Benjy with TCP..
Which is probably why my trousers and jacket smelt so strongly of TCP when I got home...

Apparently they are all, Violet especially, big fans of TCP. C says as a girl she can remember Violet sprinkling it about the house, much like a priest with Holy Water...

It was a dark green balm, I suppose balm describes it the best, which was very herby and according to my Nan, a cure-all for any skin complaints
