Good morning Friday

Postby Ally » 24 Jun 2022, 05:03

Good morning.

Hot and sunny. 8-)

Walk, swim then getting ready to go over to Jacob's.

He's having two sofas and dining room furniture delivered but needs to go into the office so I'm going to oversee things. :D

Back for a read by the pool.

Friday beers and tapas tonight. :D

Have a great day.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Cloudy this morning, lots of white, fluffy clouds in a very bright blue sky 8-) Bit warmer than yesterday and no rain forecast

Will get the cleaning out of the way this morning and then do not a lot. Might pop down to the bar for a couple of beers later, might just stay up here and watch the sheep

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning everyone :) xx

How is Jacob settling in Ally? :) xx

Jan while it was really hot here, I was getting my cleaning and stuff done early too! Much easier :) xx

It's overcast here, and cooler. Planning to walk into town in a while, just to get my steps in really. I'll pop into D's afterwards. Pilates was good last night, I managed a full side plank for the first time in ages - not sure who was more surprised, me or Steph

Have a good day everyone :) xx

He's settling in really well thanks Kaz and the apartment is beautiful. I didn't know he had such good taste.

Well done on the side plank... they're nasty.

Talking of cleaning...my lady wot does is getting here for 6.30am as she says, and I quote, " No dejare que el calor saque lo mejor mi!!!"

I won't let the heat get the better of me.

Anyone that knows MariCarmen wouldn't even try to get the better of her.

Good morning evrybody,

Ally do you think your cleaning lady could come to my house first as I am always up early and give it a quick flick of the duster

I am going to the bank. There are still some shops who only accept money. And then some shopping.
If it stays nice and sunny I will be out in the sunn again this afternoon. Am getting a lovely tan ready for my cruise in August.

Have a good day everybody

Morning all, it’s not just Friday, it’s EAGLES day for us - bought the tickets back in November and now the day has come (along with a nasty weather forecast :( ). Edward took a little persuading as he doesn’t really like concerts, however one of our favourite country singers is currently part of the Eagles and our favourite country band is the support act. The plan is to go into town later, have a late lunch/early dinner and walk to the stadium. The evenings have been so beautiful this week, can’t believe it’s going to rain :x At least we have seats, I don’t do standing any more.

Morning all :D

Dull here

I'm driving to Canterbury Hospital this afternoon to see the orthotic chap and collect the new insoles. They've been made to measure so hopefully will help, but I think I'll probably need an ankle brace at some stage. I'm not going alone, E's coming with me, travelling that far on my own makes me too anxious these days. I'm quite sad about it really, 5 years ago I wouldn't have thought twice about travelling long distances and did regularly. Thankfully I'm okay driving locally.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Hello all and good morning

Up early to water the allotment, then a bit of work and just back from the dentist with Thomas and logged back on again. Thomas has just finished his 2nd (I think) year of invisilign braces and they've been amazing. They came off today and now he has one more year of retainers to wear at night. He picked me up along the way and the only reason I went with him is to make sure that he (and I) took on board next steps so we could tell Nadine :D But if I think back to when he started with the braces and how he is today - so proud of him; he's no longer a young lad, he's a young man now.

Nothing much exciting happening here. May end up doing a dash to Ikea with Nadine later today. She flies off to South Africa tomorrow and her mom yesterday asked if Nadine could get more fitted sheets for their bed as they have European size mattresses which isn't standard in SA or here; so Ikea will be the only place to go. Amazon won't deliver in time.

Weather wise it's really meh - grey and a nippy wind. I've actually got the back door closed because I was getting chilly.

Have a lovely rest of day everyone x

Afternoon all, it’s a dull, breezy and thankfully cooler one today. It looks like it’s going to pour down soon.

Tesco took me by surprise this morning. I’d booked the delivery for between 10 and 11 so I was drying my hair while also waiting in a phone queue to the council beforehand when Tesco turned up at 9.20.

I’m waiting to see now if our bins get emptied. It’s been an awful service since they changed the recycling system in early May and they’re constantly running behind. They were supposed to be emptied on Tuesday but weren’t, Alison over the road called on Wednesday morning and was told that our close hadn’t been marked as not being emptied (walking around it looks like the rest of the estate has been done) so someone would have to get back to her once questions had been asked. When they called back she was told that they’d be emptied by yesterday evening at the latest. I’ve now been told that they don’t know what’s gone on and will, again, have to investigate….

It’s Joe’s half day today and he’s here for lunch so we’re having samosas. Amanda’s in Cornwall making the most of the cottage she and her friends have rented for the last two years before the tenancy ends on the 30th. She’ll miss living by the sea. Though she, along with Joe and her family, will be back down there in two weeks for her graduation.

Have a great time Osc!

Enjoy the day all xx
