Morning Ally, Cruiser and everyone

Warmer this morning - no north wind, just a gentle breeze 8-)

Watering done although it took me longer, as the nozzle kept coming off and I was also watered

Off to Ourique later, to get some compost and then the joy that is Pingo. Giving the bar a miss for a couple of weeks, until we know there are no more infections locally, but will check the post.

Off to Chris and Lucy's this afternoon. Lucy much better, so Grumpy needs to measure up for the mozzie screens she wants. Although it looks like they're heading back to France and then England now Lucy is better. She needs to see her medical team in England. Video calls aren't quite the same.

That's good of you Cruiser, a lovely way to help out and meet people :D

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Merry morning everyone

Cruiser, good on you and agree with Jan - it's a lovely way to meet people and chit chat.

Jan, hope you get everything sorted and yes, makes sense to avoid the bar for a bit. Fingers crossed for Lucy

Ally, last day of quarantine for you today or tomorrow? And what colour will the greenhouse be; is it a wood one? Which does remind me that I've got five tubs of fence paint under my bed; need to get going with that lot - three are a light grey (for the main fence) and two are a sage green (used for the chicken fence and I think I'll give the shed a coat of that as well.

I've been exchanging messages with my family in South Africa, it's really quite dire there. Entire towns destroyed by the looters; not a single shop left unscathed - as a result no food at all, no medicine, no petrol etc - outlying warehouses also destoyed... it's utterly heartbreaking and very worrying because it's going to take a long while to get the supplies going again :( and prices are going to be extortionate when they do - because they can :( https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-57818215 - for now though I'm grateful that phone lines and technology are still working so I can at least communicate and know my brother and his wife and my friends are safe.

A lovely sunny start to the morning here as well and promising to be a few warm days ahead :Hi: :Hi: :Hi: :Hi:I've got the car booked in for it's annual service today; so will be dropping that off in a bit. Pre-covid days I always had to find a garage close to the train station but now I can use a little local garage that's a 30 minute walk from home; and it's a perfect morning for the walk :D . Usual work and pootling in the garden to be done throughout the day.

Have a lovely day everyone xx

Good morning all.
The sun is trying to get out. I've been for a paper and this afternoon we are going to the garden centre to get some bedding plants and compost.
Ria, the situation in South Africa seems so grim.
I hope your family over there can keep as safe as possible; it must be such a worry for you.
Right the sun's out and we're off.
Have a good day all.

Morning all.

The roofing crew have been and fixed the flashing on the soil pipe and reset a few tiles so my damp patch should start to dry out. One of them suggested a heater in the room and shut the door - in this weather!!!

It is turning out nice with just a slight breeze.

Ria, the scenes from SA are heart breaking and horrendous. I hope and pray all your kin keep safe.

To everyone else enjoy what you are doing and keep smiling. :D

Afternoon all :D

Dull and over cast

Well done helping out Cruiser.
Ria what a worry for you, I do hope your family stay safe xx

We had a nice little jaunt yesterday, stopped to have a coffee and panini at a new little shop just opened. Well I say just opened, it wasn't there before Covid so it can't have been going long. There was a little hiccup, we had drunk our coffee and were still waiting for the panini, after chasing it there was a nice apology and an extra free coffee each, can't complain about that. I always say you should judge a shop on how they handle problems, full marks to the Coffee Corner.

Not sure what we're doing today, we slept in till 10.30  Thinking of popping over to the garden centre to look for some ground cover for the patches we've cleared in the front border.

Hope you all have a good day, stay safe xx

Afternoon all, it’s a nice day here, sun and cloud but fairly warm. After the usual tidying around we’ve been sitting out in the sun, mostly reading, but also my friend in Spain phoned so we had a good chat. She has been divorced for a long time but always stayed on fairly good terms with him, and she was phoning to tell me that he died on Sunday. She was getting ready to watch the funeral online this afternoon. We’re having our lunch now, then I’ll take in the washing which is surely dry by now, after which I might have to sit in the sun for another while before doing some ironing. Ria, you and your family have been on my mind xx

Afternoon everyone :)

Walked into town first thing, to meet my friend J for a cuppa, then went to D's, and have been home for about an hour. Pegged out the washing load that B put in before she left for her late shift. I have a pile of ironing waiting, but it's really hot here this afternoon, so I might do it tomorrow morning instead, before it warms up. Chicken salad for dinner tonight.

Ria, what's going on in S.A. is really dreadful, sending you my love and praying your family and friends stay safe ((((((x))))))

Take care everyone xxxx
