Isn't it ironic...

Postby Weka » 25 Mar 2013, 08:55

Spent a month a year and a half ago with no bathroom as it was being painted. Lucky we had another one to use. Then we sold and moved out.
Next house,
Spent 4 months last year with absolutely no bathroom and another month using a portapotty. That bathroom and toilet now looks absolutely fabulous, if I may say so myself.... Fully functional and gorgeous now, and I've just given someone the keys to that house today.
So back home I come, to 2 toilets that don't flush even the tinest scrap of toilet paper, no floor coverings on the upstairs bathroom and toilet, a shower that leaks, bad lighting and no ventalitation system, oh, and 2 showers that both are placed directly infront of windows so you can wave to those on the street while you shower.

Here we go again

Wow not again! I thought the new house was all ready :? Get a curtain on that window for starters and then, like Cromwell said, you'll soon get it sorted

Don't get me wrong, I love my home, I really do, it's just that nothing, apart from the kitchen, has been touched in 30 years, so it's looking dated, and starting to wear out

Lesson learned. Fix ONE toilet first, update or create ONE bathroom first. Then do the rest.

We had this the first time we had to do the only bathroom in our house here. However by the time we decided to rip that bathroom out and make it en suite to our bedroom, we had already created a new shower room and the second bedroom was also en suite. So whilst we were doing bathroom work all over again, we were never without basic facilities again.

You know it will be worth it in the end.

We're on our 3rd (and hopefully last), kitchen remake. I know the feeling...

I'm sure the bad fairies were listening when I had my mini moan. This morning I was having my shower, only the water wasn't draining, at all. Full stop. So I stopped the shower to check, and yes, not draining, so called hubby. He pulled up the grate, and still not draining.

Ok, says I, feeling smug, as we have two bathrooms, ill have my shower downstairs, then work out what's happening upstairs later on.

Well, by the time I got downstairs, the water was coming through the ceiling into the downstairs bathroom.

Where's that head bashing smily gone?

We're away this weekend, so it will have to wait till the weekend after that before it can be looked at.
