Fab day out with my mum and good news about my dad

Postby debih » 16 Feb 2013, 21:03

We have had a lovely day.

We caught the bus to Sheffield which went via Chatsworth so was a very scenic route. There were 8 of us in total - my mum and the other 6 are all from the ladies group at church. 7 old(ish) Methodist church ladies and me going to see men getting their willies out!!!!

First of all we went to a lovely Italian restaurant near to the theatre. It was very busy but they managed to squeeze us in at the bar so we all sat in a long line at the bar passing food up and down for everyone to try.

Then my mum and I walked back to a cook shop that we had seen and she bought me some of these

(not from that shop - but they were £35 down from £80). They will look fab in my kitchen.

Then onto the theatre. We had fantastic seats and could see everything - and I mean EVERYTHING. They certainly did do the Full Monty! It was very, very good and they got a standing ovation.

Then onto a bar for a drink before walking back to the bus station to get the 6.50 bus home. Mick picked us up and dropped mum off. Home to lasagne (I made it yesterday and S warmed it up and provided salad and garlic bread to go with it).

The rest of the kitchen units are in, although not quite in place. I think tomorrow he is re-jigging the wall units. We can't fit the sink until the work top has been fitted and that can't be done just yet as he wants to make sure the units are in exactly the right spot. We have a master carpenter live a few doors down who is semi retired and he has said that he will come and cut the worktops and help Mick fit them as soon as he is ready.

Good news re my dad. My sister went to the hospital with him. The consultant is really pleased with the graft and says that it is taking well. He still has a slight bleed behind the eye but the consultant isn't concerned about it - but that, along with the lens, is what is restricting the sight at the moment. He has to go back again in a fortnights time and if the bleed is still there then he will deal with it (don't know how).
