Good morning Maundy Thursday

Postby Ally » 24 Mar 2016, 06:40

Good morning. :D

Just watched the most beeyootiful sunrise. :D 8-) 8-)

I shall enjoy spending some time at home today then we're off out at 4.30pm to walk to our church.
At 5 o'clock the biggest of the Easter parades begins from there..it seems like the whole of our town will be out in the streets and outside their houses (people sit with chairs, food, etc) and wait for the first of the Tronos to pass by.

These will go on until approx 3am (when the last of the tronos return to church) and town will be packed until then.

At midnight all the lights go out and a solo drummer beats for one minute.

It's very atmospheric and an amazing experience to witness.

We'll be out all evening as we'll meet various friends along the way and have beers and a bite to eat. :D :D

I love the whole thing. :D :D

Di...wishing the 3 of you a fabby little trip away. xxxx

Have a great day everyone. x

Morning Ally Ton & Saundra,
Had a phone call before 7.00 a.m to say Argos would be making a delivery in 15 minutes. I was just leisurly getting up. I had ordered something on Tuesday on line.
Very soon the door bell rang and it was a girl with the two parcels. She said some people are stil in their pyjamas when she rings.

Good morning all

Ally, the afternoon sounds amazing. The lady who does our nails; her family is originally from Sicily and she was showing me videos of the Easter traditions they have back 'home'. Same as you I think it's so amazing and atmospheric - would love to be there to see it all in person one year

Ton, do take it easy - surely there can't be that many weeds left? :D As a matter of interest, do the other neighbours care about their properties as much as you do? I know yours was quite overgrown when you moved it, but by the sounds of things you'll end up with a cricket pitch turf at the end of all this - perfectly manicured English lawn

Cruiser, that's good of them to give you notice and nice and early too. Admittedly not always convenient but at least now you don't have to wait in for the parcel

Saundra, enjoy the pottering about

Well another overcast day here and they're expecting rain to come a bit later. I wasn't feeling totally top of the world yesterday and was in bed really early and only got up at 8am this morning - nearly slept the clock round. Feel so much better for it - it obviously was needed.

I've got some pottering to do in the garden before the rain starts and then be in the greenhouse and shed to do a bit of tidying in there once it starts.

That's about it for my day.

have a lovely day everyone x

Morning all :)

Ally that does sound very special, I hope you have a great day :)

Di, I hope you and Bb have a lovely few days away ((((x))))

Morning Ton, Boa Tarde :D

Cruiser they would certainly find me in my PJs before 8am

Enjoy your potter in the garden Saundra, you too Ria, hope the rain stays off and glad you feel better today :) :)

It's dry here so far, and I hope the rain stays off for a bit as I want to do some weeding - it's just the edges really where they grow up through the shingle, I don't like using weed killer because of the dogs. Mick has painted the fence now and painted the decking too - I was going to do the decking, but he did it yesterday while I was out round his mum's.

Have a good day everyone :) xx

Good morning all.

It's cloudy but dry here - so far! Rain is forecast for later.

Did she seem disappointed, Cruiser?

Have a nice day everyone.

Ria, when I say weeding, I really mean pulling up small shrubs, undergrowth, that kind of thing.

The only gentle weeding I can do is the gravel drive.

Morning all, dull and damp here. Waiting for the children to arrive. We are due a delivery today (the telescopic pole for the bathroom broke so Velux are sending a replacement as it is less than a year since we bought it), so although we need to go to the supermarket, I might have to go on my own maybe just taking Kellie. Had a lovely night away with Michael although we were very tired when we got home. Have a good day :)
