Morning Ally :) Morning everyone :)

Ally how is your mum now, is she fully recovered from her bad chest? xxx

Well we were woken here just after 7am by a low but loud grumbling noise outside - bit like a recycling or bin lorry I thought at first, but as it wasn't getting either louder or fainter as it moved we finally decided it myst be a digger of some sort - perhaps over at the school nearby :?:  Whatever, it was blooming early for that kind of thing............ :| Nobody here needed to be up so early either - it's the last day of Mick's leave and B has an inset day before half-term starts on Monday  Gotta laugh really  It's still going out there now..........

We have Harry again this weekend :D :D Mick is collecting him ths afternoon 8-)

Hugs and thoughts for all who might need them, have a good day everyone xxxxxx

Thanks for asking about mum Kaz. (I'd like a huggy smiley here.) :D

She's loads better...but I can hear in her voice and breathing that this last infection was a very bad one and has definitely left its mark. :(

But typical mum already has the spare bedroom bed covered in goodies to bring over for us...she does enjoy her holibobs here and I am convinced the thought of them gives her an added incentive to her already fighting spirit. :D

I'm counting the days till she gets here. (51)

Morning all. That's good to know about your mum Ally. I bet her visits are something to really look forward to :D
Bits and bobs for me today and some food shopping for the weekend.
We are going to our first Milonga tonight since the hearing loss :? I don't know how it will be, probably too noisy, but I'll give it a go.
Glad you are having Harry over this weekend Kaz, how lovely for you. Our eldest is coming over on Sunday and bringing his new girlfriend to meet us for the first time :D Youngest will be here with his girlfriend, so it will be a nice full house :D
Have a good day everyone x

Morning all. It's just started to snow here - that wasn't forecast. Not until Sunday anyway when it looks like we are in for anther dumping of the white stuff.

I am waiting for my kitchen delivery. I have no idea what time they are coming - just "this morning". I don't anticipate them being too late but I do expect them to be pretty grumpy (the delivery men not the kitchen units). The delivery was actually due for Tuesday just gone but they couldn't deliver it then as they couldn't get their enormous lorry through the 6ft 6in wide gap that they need to get through to get to our house. So they decided that they would bring it in a van today.

Fortunately one of the delivery men had the sense to drive up here on Tuesday to check that their van would go through the squeeze. An amazing thing to do as usually we tell people until we are blue in the face how wide the gap is but they don't believe us and come out to deliver and then can't get here. Anyway, they can't get their van through as the wing mirrors don't fold in so they are bringing it in the van which they will park before the squeeze and then transfer the units and the worktops (not sure how they will fit the work tops in but that's their problem not mine) into an estate car and bring it up the rest of the lane that way.

As you know, the room isn't ready for the kitchen so it will be stored in the dining room. I have cleared what I hope will be enough space. Mick doesn't think it will take up all that much space, I think it will. We shall see shortly who is right!!

I am hoping to go out for lunch with friends later but it all depends on what time the kitchen people come and go. Possibly out this evening to the local pub - its the annual chilli competition. I usually enter but haven't got around to it this year but we shall probably go along anyway to do some tasting.
Life begins at the end of your comfort zone!

Morning all :)
It's lovely here, bright and sunny, very cold but not the biting wind we had yesterday.

Loz good luck for tonight; this may sound silly but have you experimented at all with ear plugs? I understand it can help with blocking the 'too much noise', which might be tricky on Sunday too...very difficult to adjust to, such a horrible thing to deal with.

Ally glad to hear about your mum, and a good dose of sun to look forward to will help her no end.
Debih just Good Luck ;)

Minnie watch - now that the steroids have kicked in it's more a question of not letting her eat too much, poor thing's ravenous. I know the feeling but sadly can't explain it to her!
Other than that, she's a little more alert/awake, but otherwise still the same. The insides of her ears are still as white as a sheet, and she's still very stumbly and lurchy.

Youngest later for the weekend :)
Hope the snow stays away for you oop North

Good to hear that Minnie is a little brighter Di :) I hope it continues x
I am going to try ear plugs Di, but I haven't any yet. I need something that blocks all that background noise as you say, as it gets too much at times.
