Dartford Crossing

I do not know if anyone else has to use this but am sorry for anyone who does. The "Booth less" change is an absolute nonsense and another government utter folly, the delays at the toll booths were minimal compared to those due to the almost perpetual roadworks which are never likely to cease. I looked at the web site where you are supposed to pay before using the crossing or within 24 hours after and if you don't draconian penalties will apply The crossing was supposed to be free after it was paid for which it now has but it is yet another promise that has been reneged upon to grasp more cash from hard suffering vehicle owners. And to crown it we are paying the b....y French one hundred and eighty million odd to set the ghastly thing up. :(

We have been wondering about this Pederito. Of course we use it when we go down to Kent to visit my daughter. This business of paying on line or on your phone. It sounds a bit tricky. What if people are rushing for the ferry or something - they might not have time to fiddle with that. I find it rather worrying.

Yes Rodo the web site is complicated, it is www.gov.uk/dart-charge if you need it. They say that if you try to pay by phone the delay can be up to 15 minutes.

Thanks for the link, I will bookmark it. Delays as well.............just what you need if rushing to meet a deadline. Is this supposed to be an improvement?
