The floater in my eye felt worse this morning so OH said i should see the optician about it
I had my eyes examined for the last 4 years by a young optician at Asda`s (he was the one that
wrote to the hospital and said i needed my cataracts done)
I went into the shop this afternoon and waited to be seen. As luck would have it the optician
who i saw came out and remembered me
I asked if he could have a look at my eye and how much would it cost.
He went to see the Manager and came back and said that as i had`nt had an eye test this
year he would do it there and then on the NHS
The result was that the floater was annoying but harmless--it could break up, disappear
or stay forever and i would have to get used to it.
My sight in that eye is still as good as last year after the cataract op and the bad eye is very
slightly better as he thinks the membrane covering the retina could have settled.
He has given me my prescription and it won`t need to be done again after i have seen the
eye surgeon next month. All i need to do then is go in and choose new glasses.
I was really impressed with the attention and service i got. Full marks to Asda in Canterbury.
Just keeping my fingers crossed he won`t need to operate on my eye.
