lovely Christmas Day....

Postby pollR78 » 25 Dec 2013, 14:57

Well, I have to say, this is our 1st Christmas just me and my girl, and we are both LOVING IT!

My mum arrived at 7am and woke us, lol! She stayed until presents were opened and Amy got lots, so did I ;) then she went away, we got washed and put our new pj's on and have been sitting chilling out!

My mum & dad came over for half hour and then went to my sisters, I chose to stay at home with Amy this year as I always go out and take Amy away from her toys - think my dad thinks im being anti -social but I dont care!

We are having GREAT FUN!

Turkey is nearly ready and smells lovely!

Hope you are all having a great day

love Poll xxxxx

We've been hibernating Poll

Glad you had a lovely morning and hope you enjoy the rest of the day - and your turkey :D

Our weather is improving, so much so, I've opened the shutters 8-) and just put the rib of beef in the oven.

We've chatted to both boys (not a clue where the youngest is  ) and I skyped with Julia and Oliver :D :D :D

sounds like a good day Ton :)

We have just eaten and the turkey was amazing, the whole meal was, Amy ate all her turkey and asked for more!

Now back in front of the tv, Amy is watching a film and playing with her new toys, love it!

That sounds lovely Poll :D :D Ton I'm glad you got to Skype :)

We've had a fabulous day too!!! I made a lovely late brekkie of bacon rolls, croissants, bagels, coffee and buck's fizz, then we opened some pressies - Mick bought me a beautiful leather Radley purse and a watch and bracelet set, Becky has booked us a mother and daughter photo and makeover session (eek!) and Chris gave me a Debenhams card - then we all just chilled while the turkey was cooking. We ate about 2ish but lingered for ages. Mick and I have not long finished loading the dishwasher and now we're watching Blackadder's Christmas Carol ;)

We've spoken to family too..................All in all it's been a lovely day so far :D

Hope you're all having a great time :) xxx

sounds fab Kaz!! your pressies sound really nice and the photo shoot will be lovely, the photographers in these places are great and make you feel so at ease, I took Amy get pics done when she was a baby and I felt so self conscious but they really made me feel good!

I received 2 lovely charms for my new bracelet i got for my birthday - but what are the chances of me getting 2 the same! Opened mums first and loved it, a wee cherub/angel and then my sis had got me the same, so will change her one since opened mums first! I also got one with Amy's handprint that a friend made, she took the print, scanned it and made it tiny and voila, that was my gift from Amy ;) she got me a few nice things, a watch, pair of converse, perfume, Gary Barlow cd - well nobody else would buy me what I wanted, so get it myself and its from Amy!

We were thinking of having bacon or sausage butties for breakfast, but in the end had the most gorgeous bread, with thinly sliced presunto and three different cheeses :D And a glass of wine - Grumpy had port (medicinal, he said    )

Poll your day sounds perfect, sometimes we all can try too hard to please everyone else :)
Kaz what lovely presents, you will love the photo session :D
Ton if your rib of beef was anywhere near as good as ours you will have had a wonderful meal :D

We have had a lovely day too; I took round a little present each for next door and her daughter, she's still talking to us after last night so that's good
And I gave her my email address so that pic of Bb will hopefully be winging its way 8-) :? :x

We both got some lovely presents, but one of Bb's is a book and he just can't resist so he's buried in it   :x
I bought myself the kindle fire hdx the other week as a huge treat but only opened it today, it's fab :D

Poll that sounds like a really lovely day :)

We always said, since the boys were babies, that we stay home on Christmas Day. It seems so unfair to drag them away from new toys. This year we had my Mom making plans for us, and my mother in law too, and it felt like we were being pulled in all directions just to keep everyone else happy. Mom wanted us there for Christmas dinner, we said we'd have dinner at home and see them later (even though our boys are now teenagers they still had things they want to do at home, new X Box and Wii U Games), and she invited herself and Dad around to us for lunch so I said we wouldn't be having a big meal today but they'd be welcome to come for some nibbly food for tea which they did. MIL wanted to see us and wanted us to stay the night. We're going to see her but we're coming back in the evening. Even though we've been able to tailor it to suit us as well, it still feels like a lot of this Christmas has been a huge compromise.
