This is where we went today ...

The woodland burial plots were "behind" the building as shown in the final picture, but down the hill so they don't really appear in any of the photos, unfortunately.

I thought both the Much Hoole and the Hinton Park sites looked very peaceful, Di and Rodo, thank you both for posting those links.

Mrs O and I have been talking about it this evening, and I think personally I might be quite keen on something like that, as and when ......

The Stychbrook one also looks nice Ossie.
There is something so beautiful and peaceful at these woodland sites. I think it helps take a lot of the fear and the sadness connected with passing. It reminds me of the verse about just going into the next room - I found a feeling something like that when my friend was laid to rest there. We stood round among the flowers, the bushes and the trees and the sun shone on us all. We were sad of course, but somehow it reminded us that we are a part of nature.

It's like wills - not something you want to have to think about, but much better if you do :)

I think it's nice to have the choice of this sort of interment.

We looked into this a few years ago and were quite impressed, but we haven't discussed it since.

I suppose it really depends on the wishes of the the bereaved party. The one to be buried won't have any views on it after life has ceased.
