What a morning..and it's only 1.30pm!
We picked mum and dad up at 6 this morning.
Don drove as it was still dark and I'm not too keen on driving in the dark.
Straight through border control and bang on time for Morrison's opening.
Got all my goodies and then had breakfast.
Bacon, 2 eggs, 3 hash browns (well 4 really as I had one of dad's! ) 2 sausages, beans, mushrooms and half a tomato. Oh and toast.
All washed down with 2 mugs of tea.
Filled the car up with petrol then just as we got to the border lots of sirens and whistles started going.
The barriers came down right in front of me and the police pulled a big line of 'stingers' out.
I then realised what was happening..a plane was coming in.
The (extremely short ) runway actually runs right across the main road in and out of Gibraltar.
(When you come out as a passenger you're actually on the runway!)
What did nerdy Norma here do?
Grabbed my camera and legged it out of the car to the left of the barrier..and along with a few other people..watched an easyjet plane land practically right in front of us.
I could actually see passengers faces at the windows!
It was so incredibly close to us it was fantastic!
I then had to leg it back to the car as I'd basically abandoned Don, mum and dad!
Up came the stingers, up came the barrier and off I drove with (as mum pointed out) a smile a mile wide.
I really love planes.
