Aggers, you asked for my thoughts on boarding places for Prince.

We don't want to put Jasper in kennels when we go on our dancing breaks, so I found this place which is quite near to us
http://www.little-pets.co.uk/ a nice home from home for Jasper with lovely walks and lots of company and cuddles. Mr L and I went along with Jasper to meet the lady that runs it and to have a good chat and to make sure it was suitable. It costs £18 for 24 hours or £15 for a day. I take Jasper's food for the time he is there while they provide the bedding, walks, care etc. Jasper loves it and I know he is being cared for so I can relax.
I am sure there must be something similar near to you Aggers where Prince would be happy for a few days if you and Mrs A would like some time alone.
I'm not sure where you live in the West Midlands but I have found these places for you to look at :D

Aggers I posted this on the Good Morning thread too if it's any help :)
"Aggers have a look in a local paper or two, you may well find someone like the person Jasper goes to - there are a couple around here. Just people with a nice house and secure garden, usually a dog or two of their own, who take in just one or two dogs at a time. The one we met would meet our dog with hers first, come to the house so Minnie would know her - brilliant. I'm sure Prince would be fine; all you need to know is that he's safe and well looked after, but I'd strongly suggest you leave him for just an overnight stay first, then he'd have it firmly in his mind that you'll be back"

Aggers, I know this doesn't help you, but my mother in law does dog sitting, for free too :D :D

Just thought that might reassure you that there are people out there

I've seen cards advertising dogsitting on the notice board in my local Pets At Home Aggers :)

When we had cats and dogs we used to take the dogs with us, but on those times when we needed to leave them, and family or neighbours could not help, the best sources of information were other doggy people.

Perhaps you could ask some of those others who are owned by dogs when Prince takes you on your walks John? :D

J scooby always came back shattered after a doggie holiday
he used to be taken to the race course with sitters dog and just ran and ran
think it was 7.00 a day plus his own food

Crumbs - I am overwhelmed.

How kind of you all to be so helpful.

I'll get my wife looking into these. She has already done some research locally and knows more about it than I do.

Thanks a lot.

Lol Saundra I used to live near Tweseldown - army land, including a race course, used for point-to point races. I used to take my lovely Pepper there, she loved horses but on non-race days we would walk (she would run) the whole course :)
