Di, I'm brilliant with names, dates and even the finest details but faces? No, sorry. I'll walk past people in the street because I don't recognise them but I probably know the name of the hamster they had in 1975

We were all within catchment so were all really local to one another, the grammar school was gone by the time I got to that age (it now forms part of the school that Tom and Joe go to) but I suppose things would've been a different matter had I gone there. My sister went and her friends were from all over the district.

My school had one a couple of years ago. I decided not to go. It would have been fun, but I doubt many would remember me. I was kind of painfully shy back then.

Sounds like you will know a few people Deb, a long as they are the right few, it should be a laugh

I can't remember half the names on the list.

When I was at school I was always one of the none people - not one of the in crowd and not one of the nerdy people. I had my group of friends, we did stupid things but generally were good girls.

Then a few years ago I was talking to the wife of a friend who was the year below me at school. I didn't remember her at all but she was saying that when she was at school she was in awe of me and my friends, and a little bit frightened of us!!!! As far as I was concerned I was just a none person!

Mrs.e was out shopping recently and was stopped by a lady of similar age. She said she recognised my wife although she hadn't seen her since they both left school when they were both 14. Mrs.e is now 80. So she can't have changed very much.
I have been to a few school re-unions. There may not be any more as the organisers are all getting old and one is very infirm. Have still got one of the school photos. We sat in a semi-cirle and the camera travelled round. There are over 500 on the photo. Too big to post on here.

I never forget a face but am dreadful with names :?

I am still in contact with two old schoolfriends - for a long long time it was three, but then one just disappeared off the radar. She had always worked abroad, she had a Cordon Bleu cookery qualification from the Tante Marie cookery school and used to cook on yachts for mega rich people, and had a very glam life. She would come back to the UK once or twice a year to see her family and friends and we would always catch up. A few years after she dropped off the radar I tried to contact her through Friends Reunited but she didn't reply - I guess she had her reasons, but it would be nice to know that she was well and happy 8-)

The other two were my best friends, one I knew when we were five, and the other was my best mate at grammar school from when we were barely eleven. We are 54 now and email and keep up through FB, but the last time we met was at the 50th party for one of them...... :? :)

I wouldn't be interested in a big school reunion TBH - too much water passed under too many bridges................................. ;)

Ooo I would!!! :D

I was asked to one in 1996, the 20th anniversary since we had sat O levels  One of the girls in my year organised it all, no FB then of course and no mobiles, I really took my hat off to her for all the hard work she put in! We had a brilliant night....they played 70s music all night and we all never shut up, lots of lads attended as well....I say lads, they were mainly balding and portly (they were 36!!!  ) and the girls looked amazing :D
