Good morning Tuesday

Postby Ally » 28 Jan 2025, 05:47

Good morning.

Forecast sunny and 21°. 8-)

I'll have a walk then back to shower etc and we're going over to Jacob's.
In exchange for Don hanging some art on his walls he's making us breakfast.

We'll get some food shopping on the way home. :)

Conor's coming over to watch the Birmingham game with Don whilst I plug myself into the new series of GB Menu.

Have a great day.

How's Grumpy doing Jan? xx

Morning Ally, morning everyone

A lot of rain during the night and more to come this morning. Quite mild at 13C at the moment and only "warming up" to 16C later.

Not sure what we can do today, might attack the kitchen cupboards

Mitchell's house is going on the market soon. His daughters can't agree (no surprise there, they have never got on) The eldest w ants to live in it, the youngest wants to sell. The eldest offered to buy her out, the youngest said no. Mitch knew this would happen and meant to change his will, but obviously never got around to it.

Families  and money

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Good morning all.

It is drizzly and cold but we might get up to the dizzy heights of 7 °C this afternoon.

Next door, S, has just had a skip delivered as she is having new windows put in and has said that I can throw a few bags of bits and bobs in once the work is finished. It saves me a few trips to the council skips so for her kindness I will get her a bottle of wine.

Not much else on except for getting house contents insurance sorted. My current provider has sold out to Virgin Money and the new proposal is not the same as the old cover, though much cheaper. A pain.

Have a good one everybody.

Morning all, it is very wet and miserable here and the outside temperature is 6 degrees. We are talking ourselves out to a shopping centre, I have a few things I want to look at and also have two bags of clothes for the charity box in TK Maxx. We’ll have a cuppa and something nice, then get something tasty and quick for dinner. On the way there, I’ll call into the guy who services our car, there are a few things need doing so I’ll check with him which is most important (new brake pads, new battery.) I’m trying very hard to wean myself off Twitter as most of the stuff on there just depresses - I have blocked lots of accounts but things sneak through. I still have a few accounts I follow that haven’t migrated to Bluesky yet, Met Eireann, Transport for Ireland, the local council, so I am reluctant to delete it entirely.

Good morning all

Ally, fair exchange - breakfast for labour, and no doubt lots of laughs in the process. Oooh, forgot GB Menu starts tonight; well that's my evening sorted
Jan, that's such a pity about the house - why won't the younger daughter agree to be bought out; doesn't matter how she gets the money does it. I really don't understand people. Poor Mitch, he loved that land and it's come to this
Safe travels to Dunelm Cruiser, enjoy the trip out
Frank, that's kind of the neighbour and does make life so much easier for you. Talking of house insurance; I need to have a look at mine again - I thought mine was running out on 31st December but it actually ran out 30th, so in a tiny panic I just renewed with Sainsbury's as I've been with them for a while; so didn't shop around which is very unlike me. And I think I could probably get it cheaper elsewhere. Not sure if I can cancel the insurance policy anymore though? :?
Osc, I think so many social media platforms have so much depressing stuff. Good luck with the car and enjoy the day out in the shopping centre

Well another usual/usual for me - scouring the job market, tidying, Sainsbury's and who knows what else.... It's another dull and grey day; the sun is trying to break through the clouds but not quite succeeding, and we do have more rain forecast during the course of the day. I just really really hope we have a decent summer this year to make up for the wet weather so far :D

Have a lovely day everyone, as always stay warm and safe xxx

They have never got on Ria and we all thought Mitch was leaving it all to the eldest, but obviously had a change of mind.

Forget the cupboards, it's much more interesting to watch the trees fall down

Morning all :D

Definitely not venturing out today, it's tipping down here and drowned rat isn't a good look

Still sorting things out for our holibobs, all the swimwear and beach clothes were put away when we came back spring 2023 so need a refresh wash. They're not actually dirty, just have that stored smell. Will try to get it all done today. Also expecting a couple of orders from Amazon.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Afternoon everyone :) xx

Afternoon Ally :) xx

Jan, inheritance seems to bring out the worst in many people :? Xx

Hope you got what you needed at Dunhelm Cruiser xx

That was neighbourly of her Frank xx

I rather like Threads these days, Osc xx

Definitely fingers crossed for a decent summer Ria!! XX

I do the same with stored clothes Jen xx

Another wet day here  Breakfast out at Portivo's, then round to see D. We left the dogs at home, as B is off work today. Lots of people at her work are off with a bug, and anyone feeling poorly has been "asked" to stay home so they can try to get on top of it! A very sensible attitude 8-)

Love to all xxx

Afternoon all, it’s been a wet and miserable day here.

I’ve changed the beds and had a hoover around, and I’ve been working on my Dad’s crochet blanket. No plans for tonight, I’ve watched the first two Great British Menu episodes on iPlayer while I was crocheting so might watch the judging later.

Hope you managed to get what you needed Cruiser, I miss Dunelm. We used to have two town centre stores (one for bedding etc and the other for kitchenware etc) which were so handy but they closed both and moved to an out of town retail park.

Hope Becky feels better soon Kaz. That’s a very sensible measure to take.

Have a good evening all :)
