Good morning Ally and anybody elsewho is up.

It was 14C when I got up. Lots of grey clous but no rain yet.

Will do ironing today. The washing I did yesterday has dried. Then just relaxing. May stay up and watchthe New Year in on TV.

Have a good day everybody.

Good morning.
Grey and still here.
Twelve grapes, never heard of that one before Ally.
Similar to Castleford, where it's twelve pints at New Year. ;)
Kevin is here, fixing the boiler. The condensate pipe had ruptured and we found out yesterday when there was a pool on the garage floor.
MrsC is going to our daughter's tonight for a couple of hours to give them a break.
Have a lovely day everyone.

Hello all, good morning

I hope everyone has a lovely last day of 2024, enjoy whatever it is you're doing.

I need to do my usual Sainsbury's run for fresh veg and some healthy(er) food for myself and then a bit more pooting in the garden. We are heading to Panto for the 5pm performance and then back to Karl and Nadine's for a few hours. I'm not sure if I'll stay there to see in the new year or come home and go to bed    , strongly suspect it'll be the latter LOL.

Morning all, it’s dull and damp here. I’m feeling a good bit better today, still got the dose but my head is much clearer. Edward is 24 hours behind me, so last night he had a sleepless night with fluctuating temperature just as I had on Sunday night. I have a wash in the machine and another waiting to go in. In a while I’ll walk down to the harbour to see what work is going on with regard to the fireworks. I know the east pier is closed since 6am as I think they are going to be launched from there - I hope so as that would give us a perfect view! No other plan for the day, just taking it easy while this bug passes through and goes on its way. SIL was unwell all through Christmas and while they were in Liverpool, then he went to the doc on Monday and was told he has flu, so is off work all week. I’m glad really, he works very hard, and the rest will be good for him.

We rarely make it to midnight either on NYE!

Morning all :)

Wet

Shame a lot of New Year celebrations are being cancelled because of the weather. We've also had the New Year morning dips in the sea postponed in both Ramsgate and Broadstairs. Think they've been moved to the 5th, not cancelled altogether as a lot of people do it for charity.

We've had a nice lie in, will have to have a quick whip round as our lovely neighbours Jan and Dave are coming round for coffee/tea and biscuits this afternoon. No other plans, I'm still being extremely lazy, we're just having an M&S cottage pie with peas for dinner this evening. I might make a bigger effort tomorrow, but it's doubtful  We'll definitely be up to see in the New Year with a glass of bubbly.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Afternoon everyone :)

Ally I was telling Mick about the NY grape tradition when we were in Mercadona buying some, last month  xx

Happy New Year Cruiser :) xx

Glad the boiler is getting fixed Crommers. I have spent many New Years in Yorkshire, so know you're right about the pints   xx

Have fun at the bar Jan :) xx

The panto, Ria? "Oh nooooo, you're not!!!!! " ;) xx

Best wishes to both E and your SiL, Osc :) xx

It is a rotten shame.about the cancelled celebrations, Jen  xx

Hugs to you (((((Saundra))))) xx

We have yet more visitors today - my niece and her husband this time. Serves me right for boasting to family about the new conservatory - they all want to see it!  :x H and A are just staying overnight, to see in the NY, then on home to Manchester tomorrow.

Love to all xxx

Evening all, it’s been a day of de-Christmassing the house, tidying and having a good clean around. Also had to do some shopping as Tesco had no bacon whatsoever when I placed my order and it’s needed for our traditional New Year’s Day breakfast which John always cooks (or at least he says that he does, let’s just say he has a little help  ).

Tom’s flown to Berlin today, he’s back on the 2nd.
