Good Morning Boxing Day

Postby JanB » 26 Dec 2024, 09:42

Morning everyone

Normal working day over here and the sun is shining and we're in for another lovely, warm day, but cold night.

Ironing for me  and Grumpy is off out spraying the weeds, which have shot up over the last couple of days.

Apart from that, not a lot going on. We might pop down to the bar later, for some fresh air 8-)

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

And safe travels to Ally x

Good morning all :)

We’re out in a bit as I really need a good walk, so round the docks and maybe a cuppa somewhere. Our nephews are popping in to see D at some point, so we’ll be hoping to catch up with them at some point today.

Have a good day everyone :) xx

Good morning all, we call today St Stephen’s Day (or Stephenses Day, in the vernacular  ) It’s overcast but very mild, in fact it was really warm during the night. We had a lovely day yesterday. We arrived to Miss Osc’s to find SIL has a bad dose with a sore throat and cough but was managing to cook what was a lovely dinner. He went to bed for a couple of hours after dinner. It’s such a shame as their present to Michael and Kellie (and themselves) is a flight to Liverpool this morning for Liverpool’s match against Leicester, staying in the Hard Day’s Night hotel, they are sitting in a posh section at Anfield and then have a tour of the stadium on either Friday or Saturday when their guide will be former player Jan Molby. Kellie is beside herself with excitement as she will see her hero Mo Salah on the pitch. Miss Osc, SIL and Michael have all been to Anfield before but it will be a first for Kellie. Miss Osc had even secretly packed bags for the children - Kellie unpacked and repacked hers so she could fold things the way she likes  Michael messaged a while ago to say they had just landed and that Daddy is “getting through it”.

We got lovely presents including a night away in a hotel, so we will have to think about when to do that. It’s a place we can get to by train as Miss Osc was thinking we could use our free travel. We came home with lots of leftovers so won’t have to do too much cooking over the next few days. Oh! and I got a gorgeous jigsaw with a picture of the two of us on it!  Edward had organised it and gave it to the children to give to me.

Today’s plan is to do very little although I might put on a wash. My friend L is over from Boston and we will meet up at some stage during the day. I’ll wait for her to contact me as her son and family are here from New York, and they usually visit her ex today so she’ll probably wait until they are gone. Then we have various telly bits to catch up on that we recorded yesterday.

Hello and happy Boxing day everyone

Well, two days of Christmas over and done with - they time just flew by. Christmas eve and Christmas day were spent with / at Karl and Nadine's; we had our usual Raclette for Christmas Eve dinner, and did our secret Santa. Christmas day Nadine had cooked a gammon joint and we had that with lots of nibbly bits; so just a day of picking at food and drinking prosecco and watching TV / snoozing / doing nothing.

Late start to the day today, I only got up after 8 (which is something I so rarely do) and then just pottering and pootling. I do want to go out for a walk at some point just to get some fresh air, but that's about it.

Hope Ally has a safe flight home and everyone else has a lovely and relaxed boxing day today xxx

Happy Boxing Day everyone.
A quiet Christmas afternoon for us after a busy morning, and a quiet day today which suits me fine.
Cold chicken and chips this afternoon. :D
Have a lovely day.
