Good morning Thursday

Postby Ally » 28 Nov 2024, 08:29

Good morning.

Sunny and forecast 22°. 8-)

Off for my walk soon.

Conor stopped over last night so I'll have a coffee with him before he heads home.

I've got my flu jab at 6.30.

TV tonight.

Have a great day.

Morning all, it’s dull, breezy and cold here. We were woken about 5.30 by the alarm starting to “beep” - Edward tried everything to make it stop but in the end he got a screwdriver and disabled the whole thing. We’ve been awaiting a call back from the alarm guy since earlier in the week, nothing so far  Edward emailed him last night, he only lives up the road so if push comes to shove, Edward will go and knock on his door, he’s done it before!

After that, we had a lie on, decided not to go to dance practice. Actually we are going off Thursday morning practice for various reasons, and find we can accomplish as much here at home without a 35 minute drive each way. So for the time being we will go less often. Kellie will be here this afternoon and Michael is coming for his dinner too, we always love when he is here as well.

Afternoon, it’s sunny and bitterly cold.

Joe’s working from home today because he’s caught the lurgy. He was just telling me that he and Jade have booked a couple of holidays, Budapest in May and Portugal in July.

I’ve put a few Christmas decorations around the houseand the wreath is on the door, I was going to moved the potted Christmas tree from the back garden to by the front door but it’s far too heavy, that’s because it’s waterlogged. I hadn’t realised quite how big the tree had grown either, it was only £10 from Home Bargains and this will be the third Christmas that it’s been by the door. I’ve got one indoor tree inside but I need lights before I can decorate it, Amazon are due to deliver those in the next hour or so.
I’ll do the other tree on Saturday morning, and I think we’re then going over to see Tom because I’ve always got loads of unused baubles and he’s having the pick of them. He’s got a tree but nothing to put on it, I went to Ikea with him last January and they were selling off the artificial trees at £5 so I bought us one each. I’d had my eye on them at full price but couldn’t justify buying one.
The poles have gone up in all of the gardens on our close this week so it looks like the festoon lights will be going up this weekend :Hi:

Have a good day all :)

Oh, he's not stressy Ally - he's just a prat. And a bit of a laugh, watching him trying to be a farmer.

The stress this morning was the booked taxi - at 7.15, to get us to Braga for 8.00 - didn't turn up.

A second taxi arrived - so say in 10 minutes, which was actually 20  and then we hit traffic.

We're not used to five lanes of traffic going nowhere

So we missed the 8.04 and our next train in Porto was 9.32. He got us there at 9.15

Cost us 90 euros, instead of 1.76 :o :o

Ho hum.

Will do it differently, next time.

And there to be a next time, for the op, but I'll sort it.
