Good morning.

Sunny and forecast 21°. 8-)

Off for my walk soon.

Conor's coming over late morning and taking us out for lunch. :D

Him and Don will be watching Celtic playing tonight and I'll be listening.

Have a great day.

Morning all, it’s a rainy one.

It’s a see what the day brings kind of day. Might go to Ikea tonight though, I always get Joe a Christmas tin of their ginger thin biscuits so need to get those, I also want to look at the house plants too and see if there’s anything suitable for Tom. I was thinking maybe a Swiss cheese plant, I have one from there which is doing really well.

Joe’s staying at Jade’s tonight, I’m doing casserole for tea as it’ll keep warm for when John gets in. He’s absolutely bogged down with work and is feeling the stress of it. He’s still got two weeks holiday to take before the end of the year but can’t see a way to take it and they’re only allowed to carry one week over into the next year, I think he’s going to have to speak to his boss because it’s not fair that he loses a week.

Anyway, the coffee maker is calling….have a good day all :D

Hello and good morning all

Ally, enjoy the walk, the lunch and then the listening
Jo, enjoy whatever it is you end up doing. And please remind John, that at the end of the day no one will look after himself, but he himself. Sadly most companies just don't give a toss anymore. And if he - and I assume others - are so bogged down that they can't take the annual leave they are entitled to, then there is a serious issue with workload / lack of staff and just simple mismanagement by those high up who are all about profit vs working conditions for staff. The company I worked for was quite similar towards the end; one person left and their job was divided between others; then another person left and again their job was divided - in the end they had two people doing the work of what five used to do, and then wondered why those two were struggling and as a result also quit. If there is no way they will give John the chance to carry over both weeks (although realistically what is the point - if his workload didn't allow the leave to be taken this year, then there is no way he'll be able to take his usual annual allocation, plus the two extra weeks next year either). Personally, my recommendation (from past experience) would be to take either every Monday or every Friday in December off and have a four day week / three day weekend. And even then he'll probably lose a day or two, which as you very rightly say, isn't fair and really shouldn't be happening.

A wet and grey start to the day here today; I'll be doing some tidying and sorting and then have a hair cut at 1.30. Not sure what the afternoon will bring - depends on the weather

Have a lovely day all xxx

Morning all, it’s bright but cold here with some amazing cloud formations. We have heat again thankfully :D We’re going out in a while to get a new shower thingie for the soap and shampoos, and a few other things too. I have a wash on, the various lighter hoodies and sweatshirts to be put away for the winter. We got our first C-word card yesterday  I refuse to even think about them until after December 1st!

Morning all :D

Wet

We were out early, I had my diabetic review at silly o'clock. Needn't have bothered really, as soon as I mentioned the trial she said she couldn't continue and sent a message to my GP asking him to call me to discuss it. Mind you it didn't stop her giving me a long lecture about diet and extolling the benefits of taking metformin!! Oh well, I'll just have to wait for a telephone call from Dr Newton.

Hairdresser this afternoon so hoping the rain clears for that.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Jo, get John to book a week or 10 days off then throw a 'sickie'.

Losing paid leave, as per the contract, should involve a premium payment if the contract is not met.

It works both ways.

Afternoon all :)

We’re having an amazing time, the weather is fabulous - there were sunbathers and swimmers on the beach this morning :D I’ve put a bit about our lovely day so far on the anniversary thread.

Crazy to think it’s almost Christmas - I will have to hit the ground running with present shopping and cards when we get home. Had a phone call, my new dining table and chairs are finally ready for delivery some time next eeek! Thank goodness, I was starting to get worried that they wouldn’t be in time for Christmas :?

Love to all xxx
