Ossie my care alarm was changed a few months ago council came one morning an d just plunged it into the wall socket tested it was working at the alarm centre an d that was that

That is exactly the system Vodafone used for me.

From what I am reading it looks as though getting a Digital Voice landline will require it to be part of a broadband bundle whether the broadband is used or not. The alternative for those who only want the landline side is to get a dedicated (and quite expensive) VOIP phone system plugged directly into the fibre box, so no router needed. The broadband system will still be there in the background just never used.

My thinking is that if we have to get broadband we might as well piggy-back the phone with it.
