GoodmorningAlly and anyboy elsewho is up.
The temperature is creping up to 13C now i have put the CH on. Outside it is raining. I am going to town as I want some shopping. Then it will just be a day of pootling.
Probably some housework. It will include washing as I put the dirty stuff in last night with the powder in the little drawer so it is ready to be switched on. Only do this when I am in
so I can stopit if there is a problem.

Have a good day everybody.

Morning everyone

Sun and clouds today and a little warmer at night.

I'm the same as you Cruiser, only use the washing machine when I'm at home, in case of a problem. It-s working away now, but I can't put anything out - all my clothes pegs are holding the aliens together

Off to Ourique this morning to get more fleece and a few bits and bobs at the Chinese shop. Will get breakfast at Aldi's and we'll have that when we get back.

Then just see how the day takes us. Almost finished clearing around the trees in the field, then just have to clean the bank off.

Leftover chicken for dinner.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Hello all and good morning

Ally, Cruiser and Jan - enjoy your respective pootle days!

Back yesterday evening after a super speedy visit to Germany to see mom. Such a fab time was had, and makes me wish again that we didn't live so far apart. Mom is doing as well as can be; physically she's really fit and healthy so we always count our blessings on that, but her short term memory is horrendous. Admittedly it doesn't seem to be getting worse, but it certainly is not improving. We spent about 2 or 3 hours a day with her which was as much as she could cope with - we're a VERY loud family when we are together    - and the rest of the time was time spent my three brothers and I (my sister unfortunately wasn't able to make it). A good time all round. The return journey yesterday was super smooth and we managed to get a train 2 hours earlier than the one we had booked.

Well few hours working from home this morning and then catching the late train to the office for two meetings. Weather is just plain rubbish

have a lovely day all x

Morning all, it’s pouring down so no walk yet.

John’s off work this week so apart from tomorrow and Wednesday when we’re away in Wales it’ll be car programmes and YouTube videos of men doing up old cars all day every day. It’s already started  and the worst thing is that he’ll pause things to show me…and to say I have zero interest in cars whatsoever would be an exaggeration - my interest in cars is in the minus figures!

I need to go to Tesco though later and get supplies for while we’re at John’s Mom’s house, some granola bars I think. She never has much food in as she doesn’t eat a lot so we’ll stop on the way down tomorrow afternoon for something but that’ll probably be it apart from biscuits until mid morning on Wednesday, John’s sister has said that she'll pick up some bacon rolls on the way back from the hairdressers then. If we hadn’t got to take Bill we’d have booked into a hotel.
She always complains to John that she rarely sees anyone (which isn’t true) but maybe if she was more hospitable she might get more visitors. Tom goes down quite often and John will too but it’s always Theresa who cooks for them. She’s been playing up for attention recently too, she always does when the focus shifts to something other than her (this wedding at the moment) and Theresa has had to take her two A&E twice in the last week because her back has been hurting and she couldn’t get a GP appointment. Nothing has been found to be wrong and each time she’s been sent away with instructions to take anti-inflammatories. It’s a stunt she’s regularly pulled when Theresa has been due to go on holiday too.

Ria, so glad you had a lovely few days away :D

Have a good day all x

Morning all :D

Wet and miserable

Enjoy your walk Ally.
I don't like to leave the washing machine on when we're out too Cruiser.
Breakfast out sounds nice Jan, can't remember the last time we did that.
Glad you had a lovely time in Germany Ria and were able to spend time with your mum, precious moments x
Blimey Jo, John's mum sounds a nightmare!!

The house is all done, it's looking lovely 8-) We've only done them this early in the past when we've been about to go on holiday and don't want to come home to do it mid December. This year it's because Ed's not had much help from me so wanted to pace himself, he's done a brilliant job.

Must get my Christmas letters done today, I always send a yearly round up of our year to cousins and friends we rarely see. Must also start on the cards, especially the ones for Oz. I always send them early, but last year the post was so bad nothing arrived on time. Not banking on it being any better this year, we seem to go days without post and then a whole lot arrives at once, usually only twice a week these days,

Not much else happening, expecting a Tesco delivery later this afternoon and that's about it.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Afternoon all, late on parade today. My brother is staying so chat going on this morning, then I went out to my mobility class. When I came back I dropped my brother to a local hotel where he was meeting some friends. When I got back, my sister was here as she was collecting something from me. She stayed for lunch. Since she left, I’ve done a few bits around the house and am sitting down relaxing now. Brother will be back at some stage, he goes home to Cork tomorrow.

Afternoon everyone :) xx

Ria, great to have you back, and so happy you enjoyed your trip :) :) xx

Jo, Mick does that too, and like you I have zero interest in that or in renovating old junk out of people's barns :?   xx

Cruiser, very wise! My brother-in-law who was a paramedic gave us that advice about washing machines, and particularly tumble dryers! xx

Glad you're getting on top of the Xmas prep Jen, it will take some of the load off 8-) xx

Waves to everyone else :) xx

It's our wedding anniversary today, the best 19 years of my life, no contest :D I've been to the big McArthur Glen outlet in Swindon with Emma, Christmas shopping, and to meet our old WW friend Tricia :) It was the only Monday Tricia could make it, and Mick insisted he didn't mind. He's been getting on with his art, doing a dog portrait for a neighbour :) I am cooking us a nice meal tonight though - steak and all the trimmings, his favourite :D

Love to all :) xxx
