Good Morning Tuesday

Postby JanB » 15 Aug 2023, 06:46

Morning everyone

Pleasantly cool this morning, but warming up nicely.

Holiday today.

Watering done and now a coffee.

Grumpy will head out to do more car portery stuff and I'm going to dig up loads of lavender. It just takes over. When I say dig, I really mean chop off  It's easier

The sheep went yesterday, so it was a very quiet night. I can trundle the lavender down to the ruin, where we had a pile of stuff ready for a fire. They've eaten it

I have some ironing to do and we'll have a bbq later.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

The sun is shining and the forecast is good for the next few day. Temperature is 19C

going to get some bolts. I can buy just one at an engineer supply company. Not like B&Q where youhave to buy a packet.
Then to buy a cable to connect a VHS tape palyer to the tv, I thought I had one but there is no connection on the back of the new TV for the ones i have got.

Then may mow the lawn, the grass is shooting up again.

Merry morning you three and everyone else

Jan, do you keep any of the lavender to dry - would it help against mosquitos?
Cruiser, hope you manage to get all the bits you need. Gosh - can't remember the last time I saw a VHS recorder :D I remember years ago I had a double decker one so you could copy from one to another, I thought it was the bee's knees at the time.
Kaz, no rain here but we have blue skies and sunshine - not sure how long the blue sky will last though.

Working from home today so will make the most of the weather and get the hedge cut - garden waste collection on Thursday so needs to be done by then

Have a lovely day all x

Morning all :D

Bright and sunny 8-)

Got up extra early as I have a hairdresser appointment this morning. It's well overdue and my roots are looking desperate. What with that and the hot humid weather we're having I look like a demented witch :o Jo my usual stylist is on holiday for the whole summer (she's the owner) so her daughter Millie is doing it for me today. She cuts and colours well, but the blow dry is usually dire so I'll have to rescue it when I get home, it's a bit cheaper so not a big problem.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Don't bother drying any, we have loads all around the house as well as Penny Royale.

And they still find us

Morning all, a nice warm one here.
MrsC has gone to our son's to do a bit of cleaning.
Strange boy on the end of the terrace has now planted bamboo on the grass bank near the footpath; that won't end well, it's bound to damage the path.
We have roadworks in the village, short term pain for long term gain.
VHS recorders, how quicky technology has changed over the last thirty years!
Have a good day everyone.

Afternoon all, it’s clouding over after a sunny start.

Bill had an early walk and then I went for a run. The washing is done and out on the line where it will no doubt be rained on soon.

Had an interesting drive to Manchester with Joe yesterday. I always check the M6 on the Highways England app before we leave and saw that it was moving at 9mph with two separate accidents for most of the journey so Joe found an alternative route on Waze. We saw a lot of the beautiful Staffordshire countryside, and travelled down lots of single track lanes - we had to stop on one to let some ducks, who appeared not to have a care in the world, meander from one side to another  To explain what a rural route it was, between home and Manchester we only passed through two towns, Leek and Macclesfield.

Crommers, our old neighbour planted several bamboo trees right against the fence next to the house, it’s roots have started lifting our patio so we’ve now got the job of getting up the patio and digging the roots out.

Have a good day all :D

Oh gawd, Jo and Crommers! Mick had a right old game getting rid of bamboo in our Swindon garden - it went wild! :?

Jo, a magical mystery tour then?
