Good morning Monday

Postby Ally » 23 Jan 2023, 07:37

Good morning.

Gorgeous and sunny with five days of 16° forecast. A Wintery week.

A walk soon enough then back to shower etc then walk into town to meet a couple of friends for coffee and a pitufo. :D

I'm making lentil bolognese for dinner tonight so will buy the lentils from Mercadona on the way home.

Have a great day.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Sun is out but it's rather chilly out there   we had a frost last night, but it's gone now. Another lovely day in the sun, as long as the wind stays away. Was gorgeous yesterday afternoon and we actually topped the tans up :o 8-)

One load of washing out, another will be soon. At least it will dry in this weather. The garden is too wet to do any weeding, so I'll just have to watch the flower beds go green

Roast pork for dinner, as we ended up with pizza last night

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx And keep warm over there x

Not as frosty as our frost Jan, I'll bet. The last few mornings here have had a thick carpet of it :cute:  xx

Off to do the usual Monday stuff meeting up with Emma. My big thick "Teddy" coat has been a godsend recently ;) Brrrr!

Have a good day everyone :) xx

Morning all, it’s sort of dull and damp here but not raining and Edward has headed off to play golf. I’m going to the gym this morning. This afternoon I’m going to collect my sister who is having a gastroscopy - for some reason she picked a hospital near the city centre where traffic and parking are a problem, instead of one a bit nearer with a proper car park. She had some notion that she could get the bus there and back, but then realised that she might feel a bit groggy after it and asked me to collect her. Even if she is taken on time, we will still be hitting rush hour on the way back, but hey ho, it is what it is. Just need to tidy around before I go to the gym.

hello and good morning everyone

Jan, oh ouch!!!!!
Ally, lentil bolognaise does sound yummy, enjoy the coffee meet up
Kaz, really nippy here as well and so foggy the past two mornings. Yesterday the fog didn't lift at all.
Osc, hope the traffic isn't too bad on the way home and hope all goes well for your sister

As said, a cold start to the day here as well. In the office today and need to go past Halfords on my way home to replace the wiper blades - as I was lifting the passenger side blade this morning to scrape under it, the rubber partially tore away from the blade so now can't use it without scratching the windscreen; it must have been fairly perished for that to happen :? . I could replace just the passenger side, but may as well get both done whilst there.

That's about how exciting my day is going to be.

have a lovely day everyone and stay warm x

Good morning everybody.

Have been to Bolton to pick up a mini hifi which has been repaired. It would not switch off. I have had it for several years and it still works.
I could have bought a new one but I like this as it can play CDS and tapes as well as having a radio.
Have also been to ASDA. Boughta floor mop yesterday. But I could not get the head off the holder at the botom of the handle so I could use it.
One of the young assistants amanaged it so I will be using it later this week.

It was dull and grey this morning but the sun is coming out now so may wash the car. Can see some black streaks on it.

Have a good day everybody.

Good afternoon.
Going to the dentist this afternoonto see the hygenist, which I am having to pay privately for.
They are struggling to recruit dentists to do NHS work; my appointment has been cancelled twice now.
Off to pick MrsC up at 2 o'clock from our son's house.
It's a nice day here now. Not warm but plenty of sun and blue skies.
Jan -ouch!
Have a nice day everyone.

Ouch Jan xx
Sensible to wrap up warm Kaz.
Hope the traffic isn't too bad Osc.
Good idea to replace both blades Ria.
Be sure to wrap up well if you're going to do the car Cruiser.
Good luck at the hygienist Crommers.

Very little happening here, we're expecting a delivery from Sainsbury's later this afternoon and that's it.

Hope you all have a good day xx

I've lost the will to live :cute: :cute:

Spent a lot of time today, amid doing other stuff, looking at flights.

It is all so very different from when we last flew, about 13 years ago and I'm now looking into trains

I'm jiggered if I'm going to pay over 300 euros for a flight. One way is so cheap, t'other is triple. I'm off to trains and Lisbon airport now.

Still cold, has been all day. We went down to the bar, as I had a phone call from the post office to say I have a delivery. My steamer :Hi: :Hi: Only a month late, now waiting for the dehumidifier, probably Wednesday :D
