After much to-ing and fro-ing, I finally got the flights booked. Negotiating the baggage thing is a nightmare, trying to compare Aer Lingus and Ryanair. Ryanair is a pain, because if you check in a 20kg bag for one person, it automatically does it for the other person too and no way out of it unless you book two separate flights. The Aer Lingus system means one person can check in a 20kg bag for a fee and the other passenger a 10kg bag for free. In the end, we booked Aer Lingus to Barcelona and Ryanair back from Rome (doing a cruise Barcelona to Rome) Then Ryanair first said my card had been rejected, on the second try it said I had tried too many times - third time I did it, I paid with PayPal no problem.Had a gas conversation on the phone this morning - Miss Osc gave us a voucher for a family photo shoot for our 50th and I phoned to make the booking. I asked the photographer was she related to the W family in Howth, yes she is, Peter W is her uncle and she is the daughter of Andrew W. So I was able to tell her, much to her amusement, that back in my teens I went out with her other uncle Richard, and that Edward knew her father in school
