Suff, circulation pumps on modern combi boilers are not that accessible. Mine is behind the heat exchanger and needs the removal of many pipes and some special tools. It is in a very confined space. A Heath Robinson job might be different.

Sometimes we have to bite the bullet and call in the boiler technicians.

It's accessible, Frank, but it doesn't work on either 1, 2 or 3, Suff.
Our resident central heating engineer declared it knackered and is coming to put a new one in on Thursday, I hope.

We always try to stick it out until the end of October. It’s been a bit cooler in the evenings these last few nights but nothing that a jumper or hoodie can’t solve.

Indeed. I must admit I would always check the technical drawings before buying. It is not heath Robinson to have the pump separate from the boiler, it was standard practise for precisely this reason.

Burying the pump in the boiler serves only one purpose. Forced obsolescence. They are a £50 part and easy to replace if separate.
